The Headmaster
As the term draws to a close, I’m delighted to reflect on the wonderful range of activities that have brought our community together.
From artistic endeavours and sporting triumphs to academic explorations, our pupils have wholeheartedly embraced the many opportunities on offer!
Highlights include the House Football competition, showcasing skill and teamwork, and the tremendous spirit of our School. Our Open Homework exhibition was a triumph, reflecting the thought, effort, and ingenuity our pupils bring to their learning.
Year 3 enjoyed their trip to Stonehenge to consider how our prehistoric ancestors lived, and our Shakespeare performance evening brought the Bard to life in the Hammond Theatre. It has been a term filled with achievement, exploration, and above all, a great deal of fun.
Wishing you all a happy holiday season, and look forward to seeing you in the New Year!
Year 3
Team Building
Year 3 had an exciting time taking part in team building activities that brought the whole year group together.
From fun team challenges to problem-solving games, pupils worked closely to build trust and improve communication, as well as forging lots of new friendships along the way.
The Head of Pre-Prep
It’s been a vibrant and memorable autumn term, filled with wonderful activities and experiences!
Our pupils have been out and about in the local area, enjoying a pizza-making masterclass at Pizza Express, autumnal walks in Carlisle Park and a visit to the Cavan Bakery. We've also welcomed some fantastic visitors to Pre-Prep: Nurse Liz taught our younger children all about the importance of good hygiene, and Kwame captivated Year 2 with his engaging African Workshop. Everyone has worked hard, and importantly, had plenty of fun along the way.
Christmas is always a magical time at Pre-Prep. The festive season brought joy, excitement, and a sense of wonder to our community. Highlights were undoubtedly our two delightful productions, where the children shone with poise, confidence, and infectious enthusiasm.
Wishing you all a happy and restful Christmas with your loved ones!

Trip
Kindergarten to Cavan Bakery
Kindergarten had a delicious adventure as they visited the Cavan Bakery, all bundled up against the chilly weather.
The children were excited to buy their very own gingerbread reindeer, and with treats safely in hand, made their way back to School, eager to enjoy the tasty goodies. It was a fun outing for the whole class that left everyone smiling.
Through captivating storytelling, energetic actions, and infectious enthusiasm, the children embarked on an imaginative journey in search of a very special baby at the heart of the Christmas story.
Kindergarten enchanted their audience with a delightful performance of We’re Going on a Baby Hunt, inspired by the iconic book We’re Going on a Bear Hunt.
Chestnuts are roasting on an open fire and Jack Frost is certainly nipping at our nose! Festivities at the Prep have been as vibrant and jam-packed as ever, with pupils busy preparing for the big day.
Filming
part in a seasonal film shoot for the annual Hampton Trust Christmas video.
The classic Christmas song It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year set the perfect tone, filling everyone with festive delight. Donning Santa hats and their biggest smiles, everyone sang along at the top of their voices. We can’t wait to watch the final film!
Heartwarming carols, a delicious turkey lunch with all the trimmings, and a festive classroom window display competition have all ensured everyone is full of Christmas cheer.
HEADMASTER FOR THE DAY
Mr Smith was made redundant for the day as Aryan from Year 3 took over the running of the School.
He generously bestowed certificates to the staff, oversaw the delivery of Lion badges and ensured assembly ran smoothly.
Aryan was a kind and supportive headmaster and it was a delight to see him support his colleagues and pupils throughout the day. The power did not go to his head once!

Co-Curricular Activities
This term, pupils had the chance to explore a wide range of co-curricular activities.
From Spanish to movie-making, sewing, comic book writing and magic tricks, everyone enthusiastically embraced the opportunity to develop new skills.
Warhammer Club was introduced for the very first time and has been a rousing success.
An Evening of Shakespeare
Year 5 put on an incredible show with their An Evening of Shakespeare.
The young performers took the audience on a whistlestop journey through some of Shakespeare's most famous plays.
From Macbeth to Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet to Twelfth Night, the budding actors impressed the packed Hammond Theatre with their talent and enthusiasm.
Headmaster
On Remembrance Day, pupils honoured members of the armed forces who sacrificed their lives during conflict.
During assembly, Ms Sunderland shared the story of her great uncle, who sacrificed his life during the First World War. Year 6 pupils also read poignant and reflective poems they had written for the occasion.
At 11am, a moving service was held, where the names of the fallen were read aloud, wreaths were laid in their memory and pupils observed a two-minute silence.

Silence by Simon
A dying soldier lies on his chest,
A bullet had found a way through his vest.
He thought of all the lessons that had not been learned,
Of all the cities that burned and burned.
He thought of his family and all his friends,
Those who had come to untimely ends.
He thought of the ships that had sank under the waves,
Of all the bodies in their graves.
He looks around at his friends on the ground, Those unlucky, yet to be found.
He thought of the wars, fought for nothing,
He thought of all the blood gushing.
At the end of the wars we made a pact,
We said never again but we didn’t act.
So now we stand in this cold of November,
And now we pledge: We will remember.
The dying soldier whispers his last, Story lost forever to the past.
His blood leaks out, treacherously red,
As he joins the thousands of the dead.
His son to never see him again, Life only to be spent now in pain.
The dying soldier whispers his last, Story lost forever to the past.
Life fades from his eyes now cold and void
With any sense of hope now destroyed. Fragile like glass, his memories die,
His soul now rising up to the sky.
The dying soldier whispers his last, Story lost forever to the past.
Forever commend his sacrifice, Poppies grow, yet they come at a price.
Of course, the war is finally won,
But we’ll never forget what they have done.
Lest We Forget by Tommy They fought like wild lions, All remembered together, In the battlefields of France, Buried under blood-red poppies, Their wounds no longer hurt. We are all in shadowed mourning,
Fighting for a better future, Dying for a brighter hope, Lying next to one another,
