“…the energy throughout Hampton Hall has never been stronger. From enhanced amenities and expanded programming to long-term infrastructure improvements and projects on the horizon, Hampton Hall continues to evolve in ways that reflect the priorities and vision of our membership.”
We’ve continued investing in the amenities and experiences that matter most to our members, including adding a new toddler playground to the family gathering place.
Greetings Hampton Hall Club Members,
A
s the days grow a little shorter and the temperatures begin to cool, fall brings a special energy to Eric Bischofberger General Manager/COO Hampton Hall. It is one of my favorite times of year as members return from summer travels, our calendar fills with exciting events, and the community comes together to enjoy everything that makes life at Hampton Hall so special. This fall is particularly exciting as we continue an unprecedented period of investment in our community. While our Main Clubhouse renovation is underway, the energy throughout Hampton Hall has never been stronger. From enhanced amenities and expanded programming to long-term infrastructure improvements and projects on the horizon, Hampton Hall continues to evolve in ways that reflect the priorities and vision of our membership.
Many of this year’s accomplishments have been driven directly by your feedback. Through our rolling Member Satisfaction Surveys, Advisory Groups, member listening sessions, and countless conversations throughout the community, you have helped shape the direction of Hampton Hall. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to share your thoughts. Your participation has influenced many of the enhancements you see today and continues to guide our future decisions. Over the past several months, we’ve continued investing in the amenities and experiences that matter most to our members. New shaded seating areas now complement our expanding tennis and pickleball complex, a new
toddler playground enhances the gathering place for young families and grandkids, decorative enhancements have added ambiance to the indoor pool, and landscaping improvements continue to beautify our community from entrance to neighborhood streets. continued on page 4
Congratulations to Angie Nicolini on earning her Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA®) designation this year, an accomplishment that further strengthens our Homeowners Association operations and service to our community.

Employee of the Quarter ERBIN HERRERA
Originally from Venezuela, Erbin moved to the U.S. in 2022 and joined the Facility Maintenance team in February 2024. Since then, he has become a valued member of our team, known for his positive attitude, attention to detail, and strong work ethic. Outside of work, Erbin enjoys surfing, riding his motorcycle, and swimming.
FROM THE GM’S DESK continued Our commitment to enhancing the member experience extends well beyond our amenities. Under the leadership of our Food & Beverage team, members have embraced new wine events and creative cocktail experiences, while Jake Clough, our Sports, Recreation & Fitness Director, has expanded our wellness programming through new group fitness classes, TRX training, pop-up offerings, and additional opportunities inspired by member feedback. We’re equally committed to investing behind the scenes. Continued slope stabilization, dredging, and stormwater improvements help preserve Hampton Hall for generations to come. Members are also enjoying our new vapor court drying machine, allowing quicker play following rain, while the renovated Golf Shop is receiving its final finishing touches. Perhaps the most significant milestone this year has been the transition of our dining operations to Pete’s Grill as construction began on the communityapproved Main Clubhouse renovation. I would like to sincerely thank our members for your patience, flexibility, and continued support throughout this exciting transition. While construction naturally brings temporary inconveniences, it also represents a tremendous investment in Hampton Hall’s future. We look forward to welcoming everyone to a beautifully transformed Main Clubhouse in late summer 2027. Until then, I encourage you to continue following our monthly video updates as we share construction progress and everything happening around your Club. Looking ahead, we’re excited to begin planning for another membersupported investment in the Golf Practice Facilities Enhancement Project. Following approval by a supermajority of our Golf Members, this transformational project is expected to begin during the summer of 2027 and will further enhance one of the premier golf experiences in the Lowcountry. I’d also like to encourage you to mark your calendars for our Annual Membership Meeting on Monday, December 7, and consider serving on one of our 2027 Advisory Groups or Committees. Member involvement has always been one of Hampton Hall’s greatest strengths, and your participation continues to help shape the future of our Club. Thank you, as always, for your continued support, enthusiasm, and engagement. Hampton Hall continues to thrive because of our incredible members, dedicated Board of Directors, and exceptional staff. Together, we are building an even stronger Hampton Hall. Eric Bischofberger, CCM, CMCA General Manager/Chief Operating Officer

Morning Low Tide
For Hampton Hall member Nancy Huson, oil painting is about more than recreating a scene—it is about capturing a feeling. A Hampton Hall resident since 2008, Nancy has been painting professionally since 1992. After a successful career in corporate finance, she retired in 2001 to pursue art full-time, building on years of study with nationally recognized artists. Today, she is a juried member of the Oil Painters of America. Featured here is Morning Low Tide, inspired by the peaceful marsh near the Daufuskie Island ferry landing. Painted during Thanksgiving 2025, the work captures the warmth of the morning light and the vibrant colors revealed as the tide recedes.
“My painting is nothing more than a conversation with the viewer,” Nancy says. “Hopefully what I have to say is somewhat interesting.” Nancy describes herself as a representational painter, but rather than creating a photographic image, she strives to capture the emotion and energy that light brings to a landscape. Hampton Hall continues to provide endless inspiration, and the support of fellow members has made her artistic journey even more meaningful. “I feel so fortunate to live in Hampton Hall,” Nancy says. “It is truly a blessing to spend time at my easel.” Nancy’s artwork can also be viewed at the Art League of Hilton Head in Shelter Cove, Alexander’s Restaurant in Palmetto Dunes, and online at www.nancyhuson.com. 6 | Fall 2026

Member Spotlight Doug & Sharon Crawford
F
or Doug and Sharon Crawford, Hampton Hall is much more than a neighborhood—it is a community built on friendships, involvement, and a shared appreciation for the Lowcountry lifestyle. Married for 31 years, Doug and Sharon moved to Hampton Hall in 2020 after spending six years on Hilton Head Island. Originally from Manasquan, New Jersey, they had been vacationing in the area for many years. In 2008, they purchased property in the Lowcountry with Doug’s parents, Dennis and Margaret Crawford. After his parents relocated to the area, Doug and Sharon soon followed, eager to be closer to family while leaving behind the faster pace of life in New Jersey. Professionally, Doug practiced law in New Jersey for 25 years before moving to South Carolina,

where he now manages a real estate title abstract company in Beaufort. Sharon’s career began in corporate supply chain management before transitioning into benefits and compensation, most recently with USG Corporation. When they began looking for their next home, Hampton Hall stood out for more than its beautiful surroundings. “We mostly enjoy the friendships that are so easy to make here and the strong sense of community.” Those friendships have inspired the Crawfords to become actively involved throughout the Club. Doug has served on the Governing Documents, Insurance, Nominating, and Architectural Review Board Committees, while Sharon has contributed to both Fitness Advisory Group and the House & Social Advisory Group. Two years

ago, they also joined Hampton Hall’s Ambassador Program, helping welcome new members to Club life. Beyond volunteering, they enjoy participating in several member groups, including Euchre Club and History Hounds. Sharon is also active in Ladies with Ladies and can be found swimming laps in the indoor pool several mornings each week. The Crawfords especially enjoy Hampton Hall’s wine dinners, Music Trivia, and Name That Tune events, as well as casual dining at Pete’s Grill and walks throughout the community. Outside the gates, they continue their commitment to service. Doug is a member and immediate past secretary of the Bluffton Rotary Club, and together they volunteer at community events such as the Oyster Roast, Mayfest, and the Fall Arts & Seafood Festival. Sharon is
active with the local P.E.O. Chapter AQ, and both recently joined Wounded Heroes, where Doug assists with contract review while Sharon serves as a block captain. “For Doug and Sharon Crawford, Hampton Hall is much more than a neighborhood—it is a community built on friendships, involvement, and a shared appreciation for the Lowcountry lifestyle.”
Travel is another shared passion. Among their favorite destinations are the South Pacific and the Canadian Rockies, and they have also enjoyed exploring many of the Southeast’s coastal islands during weekend getaways. There are a few surprises in their story as well. Before becoming an attorney, Doug spent years bartending along the Jersey Shore
and once skied more than 100 days in a single season in Breckenridge, Colorado. Sharon was a Girl Scout leader for nearly a decade. Fittingly, the two first met while Doug was tending a bar at Montego Bay in Belmar, New Jersey. When asked about their favorite Hampton Hall memory, they did not hesitate. “The celebration after Hampton Hall earned Distinguished Club status was unforgettable. It truly felt like the entire Club came together.” Their advice for anyone considering Hampton Hall is simple: “Get involved in the clubs and activities and truly embrace this great community.” For Doug and Sharon, the friendships they have built, the opportunities to serve, and the welcoming spirit of their neighbors continue to make Hampton Hall a place they are proud to call home.

GOLF CORNER
“Does it matter what kind of golf ball I play?” BY BRENT CARLSON, PGA Director of Golf
A
bsolutely! We get this question frequently in the Golf Shop. There are many different types of golf balls available. Manufacturers spend millions of dollars each year on commercials to explain to you why their ball is the “best.” Have you noticed these ads? In most cases, if the player can match their game with the right ball they will see positive results. The ball you select can affect basic parts of your game such as distance, trajectory and feel. I highly recommend trying a few different kinds of balls to see what matches up with your game. A basic two-piece ball is a good ball to start with if you are new to the game. Most players will graduate to a three (or more) piece ball. A common rule of thumb is that a player with a slow swing speed would typically be looking for a lower compression golf ball. Balls also have different types of covers which can affect performance as well. Some balls have higher and lower spin rates which can help the player as well. Because there are many variables, we invite you to stop by the Golf Shop to discuss what ball might be best for your game.
Patriotic attire, friendly competition, and plenty of smiles made this year’s RED, WHITE & BLUE TOURNAMENT another festive favorite.

Fall Lawn Care Tips MATT SAPOCHAK Director of Golf Maintenance & Agronomy
A
s we head into September, your warm-season grass is still actively growing. To help your lawn make it through the winter in the best possible condition, a fall fertilizer application is always a good idea. I have had great success using a fertilizer with a 0.5-1-2 nutrient ratio, such as 5-10-20 or 10-10-20. An organic 3-3-3 fertilizer can also work well, but if you are using an organic product, I generally recommend applying it a little earlier in the season. For best results, apply approximately ¼ to ½ pound of nitrogen, ½ pound of phosphorus, and 1 pound of potassium per 1,000 square feet. If you can find a fertilizer that also contains micronutrients (minor elements), that is an added benefit for overall turf health. After applying fertilizer, be sure to blow or sweep any granules off driveways, sidewalks, and other hard surfaces to prevent staining and keep fertilizer out of storm drains. Some people believe that applying phosphorus in the fall encourages winter weeds, and there is some truth to that. Personally, I have never been concerned because I always apply a pre-emergent herbicide heading into fall. Early September is an excellent time for your first pre-emergent application, followed by a second application in late November or mid-December. The most important thing is to avoid going into winter with weak or nutrient-deficient grass. A healthy lawn heading into dormancy will always have a better chance of coming back strong in the spring.

F I T & H E A LT H Y
Momentum is what happens when healthy choices begin stacking on top of one another. But what if you never had to? This is not about skipping Thanksgiving dinner or passing on your favorite holiday dessert. Life is meant to be enjoyed. The goal is simply to stay connected to the habits that help you feel your best. Maybe your workouts are a little shorter. Maybe you miss a day here and there. That is okay.
Momentum
BY JAKE CLOUGH, Sports, Recreation & Fitness Director
Everyone talks about motivation. Personally, I think motivation gets far too much credit. Motivation comes and goes. It is why gyms are packed in January and noticeably quieter by February. Motivation is great for getting started, but it is a poor strategy for long-term success. Momentum is different. Momentum is what happens when healthy choices begin stacking on top of one another. You start walking a few mornings each week. That leads to a little more energy. More energy makes it easier to attend a fitness class. A few weeks later, you feel stronger, you sleep better, and suddenly exercise no longer feels like something you have to do. It simply becomes part of who you are. That is momentum. And fall is one of the best times of the year to build it. Summer vacations are winding down. Routines are returning. Schedules become more predictable. It is the perfect opportunity to establish habits that can carry you through the busiest months of the year. Because, if we are honest, the holidays rarely derail our health. Stopping does. One missed workout turns into a week. A week becomes two. Before long, January feels like a chance to “start over.”
16 | Fall 2026
Just do not lose your momentum. At Hampton Hall, that is what we hope to help our members build. We love structured wellness programs because they provide a place to begin. Whether it is a seminar, a workshop, or a multi-week series, these programs offer accountability, education, and encouragement—the perfect ingredients for building momentum. But the program is not the destination. It is the launch pad. Real success is not measured by what happens during six weeks. It is measured by what you are still doing six months later. Our goal is to help you build habits that leave you stronger, more energetic, and more independent—not just this season, but for years to come.
This fall, we will be introducing a new wellness series designed to help members build lasting habits while navigating the challenges of the holiday season. Rather than focusing on restrictive diets or unrealistic expectations, the series will offer practical strategies to help you continue moving forward while still enjoying everything that makes this time of year special. So, as we head into fall, do not ask yourself, “How motivated am I?” Instead, ask, “What can I do today to protect my momentum?”
Because motivation might get you started. But momentum is what keeps you going.
CHAIR YOGA offers a welcoming, low-impact workout that helps improve strength, flexibility, balance, and overall well-being for all fitness levels.

s the heat of summer gives way to the cooler days of fall, many people begin to notice increased joint stiffness and muscle tension. Autumn is the perfect time to schedule a massage—whether therapeutic or simply relaxing. Massage therapy helps increase circulation, reduce inflammation, improve flexibility, and promote an overall sense of well-being. As an added benefit, professional massage can also help nourish and moisturize your skin. The lower humidity of the fall season can leave skin feeling dry while making the effects of summer sun exposure more noticeable. A customized facial can help restore hydration, improve uneven skin tone and texture, and address signs of sun damage, leaving your skin healthy, refreshed, and radiant throughout the fall and winter months. Whether your goal is increased mobility, stress relief, or healthier skin, fall is an ideal season to make self-care part of your wellness routine.
To schedule an appointment, call or text Tara Gabriel, Licensed Massage Therapist and Skin Care Professional, at 843-540-0440. Please note: Appointments canceled with less than 36 hours’ notice, as well as no-shows, will incur a $50 cancellation fee.

TIPS: • Hit with a smooth, controlled swing. • Lift with your legs and shoulder rather than flicking your wrist. • Aim several feet above the net. • Target the middle, backhand or the weaker opponent.
3. Know when to drive A hard third-shot drive can be effective if: • The return is short or sits up high. • You have a strong forehand. • You want to pressure opponents before following with a fifth-shot drop. Many advanced players mix drops and drives to stay unpredictable. Blessing Box Project – Bluffton
The Blessing Box Canapalooza Event Nine members of the Hampton Hall Volunteer Brigade rolled up their sleeves on June 6 to support The Blessing Box Canapalooza at Heyward House. This free family event brought the community together with a bouncy house, live music, face painting, children’s crafts, free hot dogs and treats, a silent auction, and a canned food drive—all in support of an important mission: ensuring no one goes to bed hungry. The Blessing Box Project operates six Blessing Boxes throughout our area, providing food assistance to neighbors in need. The Hampton Hall Volunteer Brigade was honored to receive a Certificate of Appreciation for our continued support of this wonderful organization.

WE CHANGE LIVES!
Hampton Hall Charitable Fund
W
hether you have supported the Hampton Hall Charitable Fund by playing in the Charity Par 3 Tournament, attending or modeling in the Fashion Show, participating in one of our community drives, volunteering your time, or making a donation, you have helped make a meaningful difference in our community. The Hampton Hall Charitable Fund provides grants to carefully vetted nonprofit organizations throughout Beaufort and Jasper Counties that are making a real impact where it is needed most. Since 2024, thanks to the incredible generosity of our members, Hampton Hall has awarded $94,000 in grants to support these deserving organizations.
Save the Date!
Holiday Home Tour • SUNDAY, DECEMBER 13 In addition to fundraising events, the Charitable Fund sponsors several annual community drives, including a School Supply Drive each July, a Food Drive, and a Christmas Toy Drive each holiday season. These initiatives are consistently met with tremendous support from our members, and we are sincerely grateful for your generosity. Together, the Hampton Hall community continues to make a positive difference in the lives of local families and children throughout the Lowcountry.
If you would like to become involved with the Hampton Hall Charitable Fund, please contact Lori Desing. New volunteers are always welcome!
Join approximately 150 of your fellow neighbors by volunteering with the Lowcountry Foundation for Wounded Military Heroes.
F
ounded in 2010, right here in Hampton Hall, we support post-9/11 veterans and their families. The majority of our support goes toward funding service dogs for Heroes with PTSD, scholarships for children of Special Operators who died in combat, and more. Since our founding, we have raised over $3.1 million. We are currently looking to fill two (2) key positions; someone to lead our May auction activities and someone to lead the creation and management of a centralized donor “database”.
