With over 35 years in hairdressing Jayne Wild is an industry icon. Starting out in the UK, it was under the guidance of Terry Calvert at Clipso that her passion for the craft was ignited. Moving to Australia in 1988 she found a new home. Opening Wild Life Hair Origin in 1993 in Milson’s Point, overlooking Sydney Harbour, she unknowingly established one of the world’s most beautiful salon experiences. A celebrated communicator, Jayne tailors looks to best suit her clients and has the grace and skill to deliver. From versatile longer styles to one of her signature fringes her work is always of the highest fashion calibre. One of Australia’s most awarded salons, her proudest achievement was winning the prestigious title of Hair Expo Australian Hairdresser of the Year, three times. Jayne is not only a master of her craft, but a truly generous educator. What product do you think the world can do without? Nicotine. What is that one joke that you cannot tell without laughing hard? I do laugh a lot at life but I’m so not a joke teller!!! Can’t remember them half the time!!! What good happened to you today? Just watched British Hairdresser of the Year and Sally Brookes won again. Yeah! Girl power is coming back! When you are gone, what you like people to remember you by? Kindness although I plan to outlive everyone I know! What do you spend most of your time doing? Apart from playing with hair – I LOVE CLEANING!!! I’m obsessed! What do you spend way too much money on? Beauty products and shoes! What is the most impressive skill you have? ‘Killing with Kindness’, something I use a lot on difficult/negative people. It works most of the time. What is the biggest change you want to make in your life? Get a beach house to chill out in. What is your best piece of advice? Keep turning up and get on with it! Never stop learning! What do you think is the best feeling in the world? Laying on a beach in the sun being burnt to a crisp! Professionally it’s seeing others I love achieve. Best feeling in the world.
