Tuesday Brief
General Superintendent Max Edwards & Judy
May 19, 2026 Please Pray for Our Churches Seeking Pastors One of the heaviest burdens our Superintendents carry is the challenge of helping our churches find shepherds that will pastor our people with skill, love, and passion. We have congregations that have been prayerfully waiting for the Lord to bring someone their way for a very long time. Sometimes, the location is a challenge, requiring relocation for would-be candidates. Sometimes the payscale is such that only those who are prepared to be bi-vocational may fit. And to be sure, in every case, it must be by the guidance of the precious HOLY SPIRIT that a connection is made in cooperation with God’s perfect will. We have churches seeking pastors in a number of states, ranging from Georgia to Pennsylvania, and from West Virginia, to Texas. Our people are precious, and no matter whether they are in the Pacific Northwest, or the republic of Texas 😊, they need a pastor who can love them, and lead them. Please pray earnestly for our Superintendents, Rev. Kevin Brouillette, Rev. Wesley Mackey, and Rev. Aaron Withrow, as they work with these local pastoral relations committees to help them find good candidates that they can meet, interview, and pray about themselves. And if you are a credentialed EMC minister, and are looking for a new, or fresh ministry assignment, we would treasure the opportunity to talk and pray with you about God’s work and will in your life.
