An Educational Opportunity Wesley Biblical Seminary

Over these past two weeks, I have shared about events or classes offered by two wonderful institutions – Wesley Biblical Seminary and the Francis Asbury Society.

Dr. Brian Donley (chair of our Board of Ministerial Education) made me aware of another online offering by Wesley Biblical that is being hosted and taught by our own Rev. Diane Ury, along with Bishop Carolyn Moore of the Global Methodist Church, and Meredith Bauman (who is an Asbury and WBS alum, and daughter to Revs. Bill and Diane Ury). From the description of the class on Wesley Biblical’s website: “… this six-week course is for anyone who desires to better support women in ministry and cultivate environments of calling for women in our churches.”

If you are interested in more information or to register, click here to be taken to Wesley Institute's website At that site, you will find more information about the class and the three leaders/speakers. The class begins on Monday, February 23rd, and the final registration deadline is March 2. There is a $125 registration fee.

As you know, the Evangelical Methodist Church is one of the many Wesleyan-Arminian denominations that have historically affirmed the calling of women into ordained ministry.

Meredith Bauman is a graduate of both Asbury University and Wesley Biblical Seminary. Meredith and her husband, Blake, spent their first four years of marriage in ministry in China. Her own story is rich and empowering as she shares about her clear sense of God’s calling in her life.

Dr. Carolyn Moore is a bishop in the Global Methodist Church, a church planter, and former senior pastor of Mosaic Church in Evans, Georgia. She is a strong, leading voice in the Wesleyan movement nationally.

Rev. Diane Ury is an EMC Elder and professor in the Haggard School of Ministry. She serves as National Ambassador for Holiness in The Salvation Army, working to spread the message of Scriptural holiness across the U.S. and around the world. She is a preacher, an inspired teacher, an articulate writer, and a courageous communicator of the Salvation Army’s mission and its holiness doctrine and history.
