EMC Welcomes Two New Pastors Phil & Christine Dulin - Victory EMC, Reedsville, WV Phillip Dulin was born and raised in West Virginia, and attended school in Morgantown, WV. He has worked in the construction industry since 2002. Phillip was a Covenant EMC member in Morgantown until he married his wife, Christine, in 2006 and moved to Kingwood, WV, near his new assignment at Victory EMC in Reedsville, WV. Phillip’s hobbies are riding his Harley when time and family permit and working on cars and building things. Christine was born in Falls Church, VA, and was raised in Kingwood, WV. She graduated from Fairmont State College with a degree in Health Administration and is employed with the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Morgantown, WV, where she serves as the Medical Records Administrative Specialist. Christine enjoys spending time outside, meeting friends for lunch, and chasing her grandkids. Phillip and Christine have a son John, daughter-in-law Chyenne and grandson, Nash. They are excited for the arrival of their second grandson in June of this year! They are currently in a season of fostering two babies, an 18-month-old boy, and a newborn girl, which bring them much love, joy, and exhaustion. Phillip and Christine are excited to get to know and fellowship with their new church family.

Keith & Teresa Grove - First EMC, Martinsville, IN Nearly 2 years ago, Keith retired as the lead pastor of Southwest Church of the Nazarene, Indianapolis, IN, where he served for 23 years. He thought after a total of 45 years in ministry he was done. However, during these 2 years of retirement he has been busy serving as pulpit supply, and interim pastor for 3 congregations and loving it. In November 2020 he accepted a 6-month interim assignment at First EMC in Martinsville, IN. Keith and his wife, Teresa knew from the very first Sunday that there was a special connection with this congregation. You may recognize this special lady as the long-time former administrative assistant at EMC Headquarters. In January 2021, Keith submitted his name for consideration as the full-time pastor at First EMC. On February 21, 2021, the membership voted unanimously to call Keith and Teresa as their pastor and pastor’s wife. They have excitedly accepted the call and are looking forward to their new ministerial assignment with this God-loving group of people with a vision to reach out into their community.

Both of these couples would greatly appreciate your prayer support as they step into these new positions.

Two Important Deadlines Are Quickly Approaching! AMP2021 “AMP” stands for Amplified Motivational Preaching. The institute will be an in-person seminar designed to inspire and equip those individuals who feel called to preaching ministry. It will begin on Wednesday afternoon, June 9, and end on Friday, June 11, before lunchtime.

National Youth Spring Retreat - April 10, 2021 An Invitation from the EMC General Board of Youth Activities

If you are like me you are getting a little COViD crazy. After almost a year of lockdowns, social distancing, and worst of all, no summer youth camps in most areas of the country, we are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel! Most states are beginning to open up and we are beginning to make plans for summer youth camps! (The initial details for Indian Cave Summer Camp are found below!) But before camp season gets here we have the perfect primer; the perfect way to dip our feet into getting back together. We are hosting a National Spring Retreat on Saturday, April 10, which will feature three host locations. Kingdom EMC in Westover, WV Riverside EMC in Salem, VA Refuge Ministries in Copperas Cove, TX Each location will feature live worship, games, activities and food. This Easter, the Board of World Missions invites you to participate in its first-ever Resurrection Offering, a life-giving offering for our EMC pastors around the world. We ask that you make a special effort, sacrificially giving for this urgent need. Perhaps you have chosen to give something up during Lent. Perhaps you could give what you would have spent on that thing you have given up. As we watch the news, it is apparent that the US House and Senate are probably going to pass some sort of stimulus. There’s lots of politics surrounding this, but I invite you to look at it another way. If $1400 shows up in your account, what will you do with it? Some of you need the money and will be glad to have it, but others don’t need it or don’t need all of it. If the upcoming stimulus check represents extra money for you, would you consider investing all or part of it in the Kingdom of God by giving to the BWM Resurrection Offering to help our pastors around the world? The governments of their respective countries will not give anything out, and they are suffering. Our EMC pastors in other countries struggle to make ends meet with a small fraction of the income that the average American has.

As we move through the Lent season, preparing for Resurrection Sunday, April 4, let’s turn our hearts also toward our brothers and sisters in the sister EMC conferences of Mexico, Myanmar, CFAN, and Asia Pacific. This pandemic has had dramatic effects on them. Loss of work, loss of church income, and inflation are just some of the ways pastors and churches have suffered; not to mention the illness itself. Some countries have endured multiple shutdowns.

Resurrection Oﬀering During this pandemic our EMC international pastors are in need of relief in Africa, Mexico and southeast Asia. We have an opportunity to help meet their personal needs and help alleviate some of their burdens. Here is how: 1) Pray for our international pastors The impossible is always possible through prayer.
