Texas Journey Recap: Copperas Cove, TX
Journey 2019 continued on March 19th and 20th at Refuge Ministries in Copperas Cove, Texas. Pastors, superintendents and lay people of the EMC spent these two days being cultivated in God’s Word, being challenged to grow deeper, connecting with their fellow believers, and being renewed in their commitment to Jesus. Our appreciation is extended to the Refuge Ministries family for all of their work to make this Journey possible. Thank you to everyone who served as support staff, child care, music ministry, clean up crew and more. A special thank-you to their neighboring church family at Crestview Christian Church, who opened their doors to the EMW Ladies Luncheon!
One very special event during this Journey was a bus tour of several Refuge Ministry campuses, with Pastor Russ Cochran serving as the bus driver and tour guide. This trip encouraged each of us to think of ministry in non-traditional ways and challenged us to be looking for God’s provision through unexpected means as we continue to go further together.
Journey 2019 Continues…
The month of May will be very busy with the two remaining Journeys of 2019. Registration for the West Virginia Journey is currently open until April 20th. If you have not received your CCB invitation, contact Karen Parsons at kparsons@emchurch.org. The final Journey of 2019 will be in Nampa, ID. Be watching your email for that invitation in the weeks to come.

The DePue’s
The DePue’s are living proof that God can use you in international missions no matter what your talents and abilities are. He doesn't waste anything. Aaron and Shannon have spent a significant amount of their adult life working for large multinational pharmaceutical companies in sales and marketing. They have used that experience and their training to open multiple businesses in their community and also work with others to improve their efficiency and profitability. Both, Aaron and Shannon have been in leadership roles at Covenant EMC and have always brought professionalism, efficiency, and stewardship to their offices. One Mission Society is now moving to expand business as part of the ministry portfolio. Aaron and Shannon are excited to use their God given gifts to open an English speaking preschool in Budapest, Hungary. Their prayer is that God will allow them to use their talents to plan, build, and operate a profitable business in the city. Not only will the preschool minister directly to children, families, and staff, it will create a revenue stream to fund the existing ministry in Hungary through One Mission Society. The DePue’s will provide a complimentary home-cooked meal to all West Virginia Journey attendees on Tuesday, May 7th at 5:00pm, to be held at Covenant EMC. This will be an opportunity for fellowship and for them to give a brief explanation of their ministry with OMS. 7 Days of United Prayer - April 8-14, 2019 The EMC Department of Prayer was asked to develop the prayer focus for this year’s 7 Days of United Prayer. The prayer guide is shorter than in the past and is intentionally simple, to be added to a busy schedule. God’s Word is alive and we believe these biblical prayer examples will speak to all of us as we unite in prayer together. The prayer guides are posted on the EMC website here: Seven Days of Prayer Daily Guides. They will also be posted daily (April 8-14) on the Evangelical Methodist Church International Facebook page. Please feel free to share them to your own church Facebook page throughout the week. We hope our entire EMC family - Africa, South Africa, Canada, Europe, Mexico, Myanmar, Philippines, and the United States - will be praying together during the week leading up to Palm Sunday.
