In 2016, I joined the prestigious firm Broadway Malyan. In the first two years I was part of the team of the company’s most mediatic projects in Portugal and abroad; I developed architectural concepts that won national/international competitions and accompanied the licensing and execution phases of several projects awarded to Broadway Malyan, having gained extensive experience in the entire design process. Gradually I assumed an important role in the conception and management of the company’s projects, collaborating directly with the Regional Director of EMEA (Europe and Middle East) in high-profile projects, being in charge of carrying out the different phases of the project from conception to construction.

My professional career started in 2014, after an enriching academic education divided between Porto and Warsaw. My first work experience in Architecture was at the studio Arq. Jotta and then as a Junior Architect for the Polish firm KAMJZ Architects. The duality of methodologies in my first steps as an architect served as a solid foundation for my future career.

In parallel with my role at Broadway Malyan, I won a public tender for the design of the UCC Offices for the Ministry of Health of Angola, setting the tone for me to establish myself as an Independent Architect in 2020. Currently, besides my independent activity, I have a strategic partnership with Broadway Malyan, supervising the design and architecture of some of the most important projects of the firm in Portugal, Eastern Europe and Middle East.

Workplace
The project consists in the rehabilitation and modernisation of an iconic building in the centre of Lisbon, Portugal. The intervention focused on altering the facades and refurbishing the building’s interiors. The modular and economic solutions implemented did not compromise the elegance and modernity of this building, which thus regains the prominence it once had in the city.
POP it’s an unique project in Porto, an office park composed of two buildings in glass and metal, with 31,473 m2 of construction above ground, with 600 underground parking spaces, integrated in a green park that embraces the architectural complex. The buildings, with a perimeter structure, allow for the maximisation of the area and total flexibility in space, adapting to the needs of the users. On the upper floor a wrap-around terrace was created with a panoramic view over the city.
the boundaries between interior and exterior, in fluid and dynamic spaces that seek a dialogue with the landscape. Mirroring the excellence of this design, LEED Gold certification is awaited for both buildings.
This campus locates in Parque das Nações, in a strategic and central position on the eastern bank of the city. The project is an urban space on the scale of the world’s greatest markets. Sustainability ideas were introduced by creating green areas in different points of the proposal to improve the environment of the work areas. The obsolete car park and ramps were taken advantage of, by transforming these spaces into office and leisure areas, thus increasing the building offer.

The Verdelago Hotel and Resort will be located in Praia Verde, Castro Marim. With 74.396 m2 of construction area and a total of 340 accommodation units, distributed between villa, townhouse and apartment typologies, a hotel with 197 beds and also common use equipment and support infrastructures. Verdelago Resort is a project that focuses on the structural elements of the Algarve brand - sun, beach, sea and golf. The design of the resort was inspired by the natural beauty of the site, following biophilic design principles that create a link with nature and integrate the plan within a historical and cultural context that minimises its impact on the territory.

Renovation of one of the most emblematic hotels in Lisbon. The intervention involved the modernisation of 285 rooms, renovation of restaurants, creation of a new spa, lounge and new design for the Sky Bar. This project made it possible to create a modern 5 star hotel with unequalled valences without sacrificing the style and glamour that have marked its reputation.

Refurbishment of a resort located in Albufeira in a prime location, being at the moment in a state of disrepair. The project aims to modernise the resort in order to meet the demands of a growing sector in the region, offering the city a prime location in the luxury resort category.
Housing complex comprising of cost controlled housing blocks on the outskirts of Dubai. The target audience is expatriates and young people. The proposed solutions are based on principles of modular, flexible and sustainable architecture. The creation of green courtyards with communal swimming pools brings to mind the idea of an oasis, creating spaces for socialising and escape from the urban reality of the other areas of the complex.
The Fábrica 1921 development is a housing complex with 215 flats, located on the plot of the former Fábrica Simões, in Benfica. Due to the history of the place, it was decided to preserve the existing facade, which will incorporate a public library. This is a project of new trends, with an “industrial garden” concept that intends to preserve the memory of the place, to be sophisticated and to appeal to a young clientele, thus defining a new standard of quality in the Benfica area.
Luxury condominium in a prime location, adjacent to the Av da Boavista and close to the city park. With luxurious and stimulating dwellings that are at the same time efficient, the condominium is complete with concierge, shared pool, and shared green areas. The strategy adopted in the organization of the typologies was to position the 4 bedroom penthouses above the 2 and 3 bedroom duplexes, thus providing the duplexes with a private patio and the penthouses with a magnificent private terrace with stunning views of the sea.

Xyami Shopping Huambo, Huambo
The expansion project of the Shopping Glicínias comprises the construction of two new floors and the improvement of the road accesses, emerging as a response to the growing demand of national and international brands, which allows this Shopping to assume the status of the most important commercial unit in Aveiro. Besides the new interiors, this Shopping Centre stands out for its parking decks without walls in its surroundings, which are hidden behind a perforated and illuminated ‘skin’.

The project arises from the need to renovate and expand the prestigious St. Julian’s International School. It is proposed to retain the core courses in the existing central building thus relating to the history and prestige of the site and create new contemporary blocks and spaces along an axis to demonstrate the school’s commitment to investing in the future of its students’ education and personal growth. The proposed campus plan and new expansion are inspired by the strength and formality of the existing courtyard, interspersing the various blocks always with outdoor areas and green zones providing an environment conducive to learning.

This project is the result of the success achieved by this shopping centre, built in 2015 by Broadway Malyan. It assumed itself as one of the main commercial points in the city during its short existence. Thus the new project focuses on expanding the existing volume by creating more shops, 3 new anchors, a gym and an outdoor plaza for events and leisure. The architectural language of the new volumes follows the idea of the existing one, betting on modern lines, bright colours and a strong Angolan identity.

Shopping Huambo, with an area of 9,000 m2, features 15 shops, with national and international brands. This project is the result of the promoter’s strong bet in the commercial market in Angola, making this shopping centre a reference in the local market and the main commercial focus of the city. The Shopping Centre also has a large hypermarket, cinemas and a diverse restaurant offer. It is intended to transform the offer to the consumer, by its dimension, offer and visitor experience. The architectural approach aims to ensure that this shopping centre maintains a strong African identity while reflecting modernity.

The design of the new Farfetch Campus in the city of Porto focuses on the goal of creating a landmark that is recognisable by its elegance and luxury, combined with the technological innovation represented in the materials used and the construction systems. The contemporary blocks with bold lines lie on a verdant landscape that begins in the existing river. The premise of creating large work and leisure spaces with plenty of natural light was the driving force behind the interior design.

Set of pedestrian bridges that create links between different points on the island. This project is part of a larger plan to restructure Palm Island in Dubai in order to solve traffic and commuting problems and prepare the island for Expo
Porto Island is an artificial island located in a privileged area of the Jumeirah Beach. It will house a resort with three hotels, an aparthotel, a shopping centre and an amusement park. The scale of the intervention will mark the structure and urban fabric of Dubai. Porto Island will be a reference destination with the aim of rivaling other top destinations in the Emirates.

ANA Lisbon Airport South Terminal, Lisboa
The project consists in the design and detailing of the interiors of an existing building of Zahara in Luanda with the aim of creating the new offices in Angola. Modern and innovative workplace concepts were introduced, encouraging dynamism and commitment at work but also a great focus on the well-being of the employees, with a new canteen area and leisure areas.
Dubai 2020. The concept of these links is inspired by local references, resulting in iconic bridges that promise to be visual references on the island.
AGEAS Offices, Lisboa
The project focuses on the expansion of Lisbon Airport, creating a South Terminal that responds to the increased flow of passengers in the city. The concept for the new terminal is inspired by aviation, the large canopy reminiscent of an aircraft’s wings over a clean and sober glazed volume that houses the terminal’s functions and from where the “gates” exit. A large sustainable green barrier divides the terminal and the exterior of the airport, minimising the impact of the new construction on the environment and concealing its visual impact in relation with the city.
This project focuses on the interiors of the floors to be occupied by AGEAS insurance company in a new office building in Lisbon. The vision for the project was to create 3 distinct environments with patterns and colours to match the use of the space to which they are applied. The result is a vibrant and contemporary lobby; sophisticated and flexible work areas; inviting restaurant and leisure spaces.
