The ribbon cutting ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the East Hall Community Center, located at 3911 P Davison Road in Gainesville, with celebration activities running until 2:00 pm

Quilts by Jeanie Whitworth
Jeanie Whitworth is a Hall County resident who has been quilting for about twenty years. Jeanie loves any project involving a hand or machine needle, which includes knitting, crocheting, embroidery, cross stitching, and, of course, quilting. She is extremely fortunate to be surrounded by more than a hundred fiber artists in Dawsonville's Heart In Hand Guild, Dahlonega's Golden Stitches Guild, Cornelia's Mt. Laurel Guild, and a Quilting Bee that meets in the Jackson EMC building on Dawsonville Highway. The insurmountable knowledge Jeanie has gained from these artists will always be treasured. Jeanie is a proud volunteer quilter for Quilts of Valor, in which quilts are made then ceremoniously presented to United States Veterans.
Before becoming a quilter, Jeanie earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Georgia where she fulfilled a childhood dream of marching with the University of Georgia Redcoat Band. Jeanie taught school for 36 years in public and private schools.
