Last Christmas I retired from full-time work. Reaching this important phase of my life has made me reflect on what I have done and achieved in the past 40 years in the workforce.

Haileybury Foundation Thank You event 2025 has been a monumental year already for Haileybury Foundation. We are proud to be supporting 31 students through the Haileybury Scholarship Fund and, thanks to an already record-breaking year, we are delighted to announce that in 2026, this number will increase to 37 students.
Along with the joys of raising a family and being a mentor to students exploring their future careers, one of the greatest pleasures has been my involvement with Haileybury, as a councillor, and donor and Director of the School’s Foundation. Being so closely involved, I see how well the money is managed; I see the incredible impact a Haileybury scholarship has on students; and I see how important new, modern buildings are to current and future students. I’m no longer a councillor, but I’ve stayed on as a Director of the
Foundation. I’ve met many recipients of our donations and their parents. What has impressed me most was how appreciative they are to be given the chance of a Haileybury education, and their enthusiasm to embrace the opportunities afforded to them. A chance that, unfortunately, is limited to the number of donations we give. I urge anyone who has the capacity to please consider donating to the Foundation.
