From the Chairman Neil Sutcliffe
Our Milestone Year in 2024 – Building on our Strength in 2025 Your Foundation Board held its inaugural meeting for 2025 earlier in February. We had much to celebrate as we reflected on 2024. We then spent time formulating our new ideas and our Key Performance Indicators for 2025 and beyond. From every angle, 2024 was undoubtedly our best year to date, as measured by: •

Before turning to our 2025 outlook, we need to pay our respects to Tom Poulton, the ‘founder’ of the Haileybury Foundation. Having written last year about what Tom meant to the Foundation, and mindful of the tributes in January from the School and from the OHA, I shall keep my words brief. Tom ‘founded’ this Foundation after many years of successive leadership groups procrastinating. He was its inaugural Chair (2010-14), a regular donor
inception in 2023, Haileybury Pangea, Australia’s leading online school, has been recognised for its Best Student Wellbeing and Best Remote Learning programs. Community support for the Haileybury Pangea Scholarship program is vital in extending these transformative educational opportunities to students from rural, regional, and diverse communities. By donating, alumni help reduce geographical barriers, provide access to a high level of education, foster future leadership, promote diversity, expand educational choices and support the inaugural foundation scholarship. This collective effort ensures that deserving students can benefit from a world-class education, regardless of their location or circumstances. The Haileybury Pangea Scholarships, set to commence in 2026, aim to provide exceptional educational opportunities to students from rural, regional, and diverse communities who might otherwise lack access to Haileybury’s world-class education. Alumni support is crucial in making this vision a reality.
and a passionate supporter. Tom remained a board member, donor and passionate supporter until 2023 – in short, this Foundation would not be the same (or at all) without him. Vale Tom Poulton. In turning to 2025 and beyond, I reiterate what we spoke about in 2024: the work of the Haileybury Foundation is vital for our great School. While Haileybury has long been a leader in education, the lack of a founding endowment, starting as a family-owned institution, has meant that the Foundation’s current and future role is critical. Through prudent investment and a focus on helping the most deserving students, we are ensuring that Haileybury continues to thrive for generations to come. During our Board meeting, we discussed and set our Key Performance Indicators for the year, as well as formulating new and ambitious plans that connect to the key ideas from our 2024 Strategic Forum. We look forward to sharing these plans and ideas with you as the year unfolds. Neil Sutcliffe Chairman, Haileybury Foundation
