POCKET-TO-POCKET PITCH SHOTS The Must-Have Move for Your Short Game
COURSE OPENING
I love this shot because you can basically use the same technique, then just change ball position and clubs to create all the shots you need from 30 yards and in. No more confusion on set-up or execution.
Aerification of the Signature Course was completed ahead of schedule and we're excited to open it up for play on Saturday, August 1st!
Here we go. Set up…keep it clean!
MENS AND LADIES WEEKLY CLINICS Keep in mind that our Clinic Series is going strong and we recommend you check out a clinic for the part of your game needs the most help. There is a limit of 6 golfers per clinic:
FOR THE STANDARD SHOT • Stance narrow, just inside hip width Front foot dropped back and flared slightly, this will help your body rotate through the shot • Ball position for standard shot, just slightly back of center
Men’s Golf Clinic: Every Wednesday at 2 PM Ladies Golf Clinic: Every Thursday at 11 AM juniors Golf Clinic: Every Sunday at 11 AM (ages 6 - 16)
• Center of sternum over ball • Place more pressure onto your lead foot
Our Clinic Series theme will be "From Green to Tee," with 6 total topics covered in successive order: - Putting - Chipping - Pitching/ Sand Play - Iron Play - FWY/ Hybrids - Driver The price of each clinic is $20 or you can buy a package of 6 clinics for the price of 5. Please contact the Professional Staff to sign up!
• Handle of club pointing just slightly forward of belly button. From a nice, compact but balanced set up position, swing your arms back and allow your trail arm to fold until your hands are just off your rear pocket • On the forward swing, simply rotate your hips and chest and allow your arms to swing forward and finish with your hands off your front pocket. The lead arm will soften and fold so that your club can move on an arc around your body. Hands positioned in the center of your body. In the backswing, allow right arm to soften and fold slightly
MERCHANDISE SPOTLIGHT Stay hydrated on the course and beyond with our new Stache Insulated Tumblers. They are made locally in Greenville, South Carolina and come in an array of colors and patterns. Also a great gift for those off-island! Shop online HERE

Tennis TENNIS CLINIC SCHEDULE
US OPEN ROUND ROBIN Saturday, September 5 The Haig Point Tennis Center is pleased to announce the US Open Round Robin will be held on Saturday, September 5 from 9:00 – 11:00. This Labor Day event is always a lot of fun. Please contact the award-winning Haig Point Tennis Center to register, 843-341-811 or click HERE
BACKHAND WEAPONS The backhand slice is one of the most useful shots you can have in your bag. The slice will allow you to drive your opponent deep; with the same motion you can hit a hamstring-pulling drop shot. Keep these three tips in mind the next time you pull out this weapon. • Deep shoulder turn – as you prepare to hit, your chin and front shoulder should be touching. • Flat swing plane – the spin is produced by a slightly opened racquet face not the path of the swing. As you drive through the ball, make sure hit out and not chopping down on the ball. • Drive out not across – if you are right-handed, try to keep the racquet on the left side of your body as long as possible.
