Great Golf at Stoke in October... The WPGA International Challenge will be returning to Stoke by Nayland for a fourth successive year from Thursday 6th to Saturday 8th October. The 54-hole event is part of the LET Access Series and was launched in 2013 by The PGA to increase support of the women’s game. An excellent hospitality package is offered for Friday 7th October for just £40 + vat per person which includes coffee and pastries on arrival, a delicious three-course buffet lunch and traditional afternoon cream tea. So you can watch world class golf in style from the restaurant terrace – as well as enjoying a delightful walk following the players around the course in stunning Constable Country. One of the local shining stars of the show will be 14 year old outstanding amateur player, Lily Humphrey who recently joined Stoke by Nayland Golf Club. Head teaching professional at Stoke by Nayland, Roly Hitchcock, coached this amazing prodigy originally through England Golf East Region and she has now been in the squad for 2 years. Lily has won an impressive collection of silver ware for someone so young. She has played in Home internationals for England and European Team Championships, and won Bronze in the European Youths championship. She has also won the English Girls U14’s 2015, English Girls U16’s 2016, Fairhaven National Tournament, North of England U 16’s on -15 par score! Winning the Liphook Scratch trophy enabled her to qualify in 15th place for England Golf OOM, and to win a place to play in the LETAS Tour at Stoke by Nayland. The week after the LETAS event, former Ryder Cup Captain, Sir Nick Faldo and around 90 brilliant young golfers aged from 13 to 21 from all over the world will be hosted by Stoke by Nayland for the 3 days from 11th – 13th October for the final of the Nick Faldo World Series, on its 20th anniversary – another coup for the family-owned venue.
