QTR 1 2026

It has been a strong start to the year, and we are excited for what lies ahead.
As we close out Quarter One, it’s pleasing to look at the strong position the business is in across our projects. We finished the year with some outstanding project completions, including Hudson Hub, Bennetts Lane, Assemble MRK and St Clare — all delivered on time, to a high standard, and with very positive client outcomes. Across our active projects, momentum remains strong, with several key milestones already achieved and a number of major developments tracking well as we move further into 2026.
It was also great to recently complete our Annual Strategy Days with our Board and again with our Project Managers. These sessions are always an important opportunity to reflect, plan and ensure we remain aligned on our priorities for the year. We look forward to those outcomes filtering through to project teams and departments in the coming weeks.
I would also like to extend a warm welcome to all new employees who joined Hacer over the past quarter. We are pleased to have you on board and look forward to working with you.
It has been a strong start to the year, and we are excited for what lies ahead.

We’re thrilled to kick off this edition with some big wins, four major projects wrapped up late last year: Hudson Hub, Bennetts Lane, Assemble MRK, and St Clare. All delivered on time, to top tier quality, and with very happy clients. A massive effort from everyone involved!
This one’s entering the home stretch! Balmain Street civil works are moving along, the revolving door is in its final rounds of testing, and the façade is sparkling after a full clean. Defects are being zipped up via ropes, tenancy floors gleam after their final clean, and the upper floors are being defected. The Ground Floor lobby, with its Spotted Gum timber and stone walls, looks absolutely sensational.
It’s a hive of activity on all four buildings as fitout pushes ahead. The prototype wrapped before Christmas; permanent power is on and defecting with Assemble is just around the corner. Outside, two tower cranes are down, hoist removal is on the horizon, and the bold red, blue, and green building colours are giving each building its own personality. Meanwhile, the heritage chimney restoration is in full swing with repointing, cleaning, and structural strapping underway.

Façade elements on both apartment towers are almost complete, and the green and red brick arches on the podium are turning heads. Cranes and hoists will disappear by the end of April, clearing the way for critical scar works. Inside, the prototypes are looking fantastic and are shaping the upper levels.
Structure has cracked Level 14 and is on track to top out in early May. Façade installation is progressing across Levels 4–5, with internal fitout humming along on Levels 2–3.
Structure has officially topped out on this iconic South Melbourne project! Fitout is underway and final finishes and defects are progressing on the lower levels. The project is tracking exactly where it needs to be for a Q3 2026 completion.

Momentum is strong as the substructure phase pushes toward B2. Piling is complete, the top-down slabs are poured and operational, and retention works, from shotcrete walls to anchoring are progressing well. Excavation continues as we work toward the final basement slab and hydrostatic structure.

A huge milestone, work has officially started on this iconic site! Basement retention is underway for the new four level basement, and piling is kicking off with one of the biggest rigs in the market tackling 40 metre deep CFA piles. Next up: finishing piling, installing capping beams, and full scale excavation. Expect over 1000 workers on site at peak, a big, busy year ahead with basement completion targeted for late 2026.

Our fifth consecutive project with Assemble has blasted out of the gates. Basement works are almost halfway complete, bulk excavation is progressing, and foundation piles kick off once excavation wraps in April. Two of four tower cranes will be installed in June, officially launching the structural phase.
After months of planning, works have officially commenced on the exciting Samma Place project. As seen on our other projects at 437 St Kilda Road and Dorcas Street, the Hacer project team has again delivered an outstanding outcome through strong design coordination and early procurement, enabling our Tier 1 basement contractor, Trackworks, to hit the ground running.
Works are progressing well, with bulk excavation now underway and foundation piling works to follow shortly. A great start on site and a strong platform set for the stages ahead.

Plenty more on the horizon with VMCH Ivanhoe and 623 Collins Street set to start in the second half of the year.
And with all current projects running on or ahead of schedule, our clients and the industry are taking notice. Amazing work, team!

We’re excited to share continued progress in sustainability and industry recognition this quarter, with a range of initiatives driving better environmental outcomes across our projects. It’s great to see these efforts gaining traction and being recognised externally. A huge effort from everyone involved!

Since commencing our Container Deposit Scheme fundraising at Head Office last October, we have raised over $150 for Lifeline, Movember and the Salvation Army Christmas Appeal.
Starting this month, we will be consolidating the fundraising to a charity per quarter to have more impact! If you’d like to do the same at your project, please contact Matea Cehovin.

Each year more than 200,000 tonnes of clothing end up in Australian landfills. We are doing our part to reduce this waste by partnering with Apparel to collect and recycle our old uniforms.
In FY25 we prevented 155 kg of textiles form going to landfill. Well done to everyone who returned their uniforms to the Apparel Bin at Head Office.

We welcome Rohan Hooper to the RAP Working Group, representing the construction team.

This February and March celebrated the commencement of projects at Samma Place and Assemble SGRP with a Welcome to Country Ceremony.
At Samma Place we hosted the Honourable Clare O’Neil MP (Minister for Housing) and Kate Thwaites MP (Member for Jagajaga)at Samma Place, with the Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony conducted by Wurundjeri Elder John Terrick , who highlighted the importance of unity.
At Assemble SGRP, Wurundjeri Man Thane Garvey conducted the Welcomed to Country, speaking of evolving customs in a fast-paced world.

A great quarter for health and wellbeing, with the team embracing initiatives that support both body and mind. From getting active to staying connected, it’s been great to see the energy across the business. A fantastic effort from the team!
Our Annual participation in the Corporate Triathlon saw 26 employees participate, a record number for Hacer, with an outstanding result of two teams finishing on the podium (mens split triathlon and womens run). A fantastic achievement and a great reflection of team spirit across the business.

We also held a half-day Mental Health Workshop at Head Office on Tuesday 31 March, providing a valuable reminder of how important it is to prioritise mental health and how we can practically support those around us.
Run for the Kids was also on the calendar, although participation was lower than expected. We’d love to hear from our people on which events matter most, so Hacer can better support the initiatives our teams are most interested in across the year.
FareShare Volunteering
Looking ahead, our date for FareShare Volunteering this year will be on Wednesday 27th May – 9:00am –12:30pm, with up to 20 places available. Please contact Claire if you would like to Flu Shots

sday27th May – 9:00 30pm
We will be offering free Flu Shots in May, so keep an eye out for the booking email.
Lastly, most project teams have now participated in a psychosocial consultation session with Claire and will be familiar with Hacer’s Psychosocial Risk Assessment. Head Office teams will soon spend time working through what this looks like in practical terms for their own departments.
As a reminder, support is always available through our Employee Assistance Program, Acacia (Login: Hacer P/W: Acacia, or call 1300 364 273), and through our anonymous Speak Up email, available via the SharePoint home page or the QR codes on posters across site and office locations.
To focus on the delivery of Green Star and raising awareness of the most common health and wellbeing issues in the construction industry, each project will be issued with posters to be displayed both at site office and amenities areas.
Topics will include the following:
• Alcohol and other drugs
• Respect in the workplace
• Mental health including suicide prevention
• Family and relationships
• Healthy living, and
• Cultural awareness

A big thank you to everyone who contributed to our 2026 Company Engagement Survey. It was encouraging to see that engagement across Hacer remains strong overall, with particularly positive feedback around pride in working for the business and feeling safe at work — one of the highest-scoring areas in the survey.
The survey also gave us valuable insight into where we can continue to improve. The key areas of focus coming through were compensation, recognition and manager capability, along with a clear opportunity to keep strengthening feedback, career development and the overall employee experience.
These results are important because they help shape where we direct our efforts

A big quarter for reward and recognition, with some outstanding contributions across the team being acknowledged. From going above and beyond on projects to supporting one another, it’s great to see these efforts recognised.

Congratulations Raj on being named MVP for Q 1 2026, an incredibly welldeserved recognition!
Nothing is ever too hard for you; you consistently roll up your sleeves, get involved, and support those around you with genuine respect and positivity.
Despite being relatively new, you’ve made a significant impact through your willingness to help, (including throwing on an apron for the Corporate Tri), and your approachable, patient manner that puts others at ease. Your ability to clearly explain problems and practical solutions makes a real difference to the team, and your reliability in always following through is highly valued.
On top of this, your Tech Toolbox talks are a standout, delivered with clarity and humour.

Congratulations Erin Park on graduating for the Hacer Graduate Program!

We’ve had a great start to the year with Social Club, bringing the team together through a range of events and catch-ups. It’s been great to see people connecting across teams and building relationships outside of day-to-day work.
The Hacer Group Social Club kicked off 2026 in style with 30 of our finest heading on a boat party along the Yarra on a beautiful Friday afternoon.
Cruise Skipper Dom Kumosz was in good form early on his Social Club debut in preparation for his buck’s party on Saturday which set the tone for the evening, which ultimately ended with a shirtless Sam Whelan running through Riverland bar just before midnight, signalling home time for those left.
In between, it was great to get everyone across the different sites & offices together for a beer to kick off 2026.
We will next head to the famous Docklands Padel court on April 10th to determine who is Hacer’s least uncoordinated tennis player! Stay tuned…
If you are interested in joining the social club please contact Harry Trezise or Pettsy Coming Up in April
Keep your eyes peeled for our next Social Club event on Friday April 10th at Docklands Padel Yards!

Welcoming new bundles of joy, Congratulations!

Congratulations to Will McNab and Luke Farchione on their recent engagements.
