Floor Plans
Auto-generated 2D floor plan from the scan. Shareable, zoomable, and downloadable. Great for a quick spatial overview.
Dimensions
Click any two points in the model to get an instant measurement, useful for owners checking furniture fit or contractors verifying rough-in.
Mattertags
Pin a note, document, photo, or link to any point in space.This is the core of the tagged closeout: equipment manuals, warranty info, and more.
Dollhouse View
The iconic 3D dollhouse gives owners a full building overview. Great for orientation before diving into individual spaces.
The Tagging Standard
A standardized tagging sheet keeps closeouts cohesive across every project.
Equipment Name: Consistent naming from the submittal / O&M binder
Tag Color /Type: Category-coded: mechanical, electrical, plumbing, etc.
Attached Docs: Cut sheets, warranty cards, serial numbers, manuals
Location Note: Brief plain-language description for the FM team
Last Updated: Date stamped so the client knows the record is current
The sheet lives in the project folder. Use it as your tagging checklist before every closeout scan.
Merging Models & Multi-Floor Setup
1 Scan Each Floor Separately
Each floor is processed as its own Matterport model. Keep naming consistent: Floor 1, Floor 2, etc. Use the tagging sheet to tag as you go.
2 Merge in Matterport Cloud
Open both models, use the 'Link Spaces' feature to connect floors.Align overlapping scans at stairwells or elevators for a seamless walk-through.
3 Floor Switcher for Owners
The finished model shows a floor selector UI. Owners and FM team can jump between levels without losing orientation. No app needed.
