Equine Influenza Vaccinations agreed and recommended by BEF / FEI
Equine Influenza and Tetanus vaccinations are a compulsory requirement for all horses attending the Burwarton Show. The requirement for the first three vaccinations is as follows: the first vaccination is Day 1; the second vaccination is to be administered 21 – 60 days later; the third booster vaccination within six months plus 21 days of the second vaccination; subsequent annual booster vaccination within 365 days of the previous booster vaccination. No horse should enter competitions within seven days of an EI vaccination. Foals should commence vaccinations at six months old. This is the latest guidance from the FEI/BEF but may be subject to change. Competitors are requested to check the website before entering. Passports will be randomly checked.
All equines should present with no evidence of whiskers or sensory hairs having been trimmed or removed (other than for veterinary purposes in which case you must provide written proof from your Vet; this proof must be available at Show if requested by a Show Official). Sensory hairs are the hard hairs located on the horse’s muzzle and around the eyes, also known as ‘whiskers’ that are used for sensation. The Society may take actions against anyone who is in breach of this regulation.
**THE SOCIETY DEFINES A COLT AS BEING AN UNCASTRATED MALE HORSE LESS THAN FOUR YEARS OF AGE ON 1 JANUARY 2026. NO STALLIONS ALLOWED EXCEPT IN SHETLAND PONIES SECTION.**
NO SUBSTITUTION OF HORSE OR PONY WILL BE ALLOWED ON SHOW DAY.
IMPORTANT—TIMES GIVEN WITH EACH CLASS ARE APPROXIMATE AND COULD BE SUBJECT TO CHANGE IF DEEMED NECESSARY BY THE ORGANISING COMMITTEE.

Burwarton Accumulator
Following the success of this class in 2025, the Burwarton Accumulator has secured its place in the Main Ring entertainment. It is a fast and tense competition that encourages the spectators to cheer on the competitors.
Rule 274,274.5,274.6. Table A. Speed 375mpm. Start Height 1.05m.
Open to Adult, Associate and Junior Members. Club Members are NOT eligible. The order of starting must be drawn.
This competition takes place over six, eight or 10 obstacles which are progressively more difficult. No combination obstacles are allowed. The progressive difficulty is not solely due to the height and spread of the obstacles, but also to the difficulty of the track. Points are awarded as follows: One point for obstacle No. 1 cleared, two points for No. 2, three points for No. 3 etc. with total of 21, 36 or 55 points. No point is awarded for an obstacle knocked down. Faults other than knock-downs are penalised as for Table A and any of these faults, including time faults, are converted into points and deducted from any jumping points scored. In the event of equality of points for First place, there will be a jump-off against the clock over a shortened course, over obstacles that may be increased in height and/or spread. The obstacles in the jump-off must be jumped in the same order as in the first round and retain their respective points allotted in the first round.
This competition may also take place directly against the clock. In the event of there not being enough time for a jump-off, the times for the previous round will define the winning places. For the last obstacle of the course, an alternative obstacle may be provided, of which one part may be designated the Joker. The Joker must be more difficult than the alternative obstacle and carry double points. If the Joker is knocked down, the points must be deducted from the total. Each rider allowed to ride a maximum of two horses. See page 20 to enter Class 356
