CHECK OUT THESE SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES Most of the Snowbirds have flown, but GVR hasn’t rolled up the sidewalks! May 13, celebrate Mom with brunch! A $25 ticket buys a meal, mimosa, and entertainment by award-winning harpist, Dr. Christine Vivova. Tickets available on ActiveNet or at any Customer Service desk. Group reservations are available to ensure same-table seating. For reservations of four or more, please call Shelly at 520-838-0156. Under the Stars is a new outdoor cinema series that will be hosted in the courtyard at West Center, under the stars. For the first four weeks of May, members will enjoy various episodes of Universe—the visually stunning History Channel series about the stars and planets in southern Arizona’s magnificent night skies. The series will wrap up with Gravity—the full-length 2013 film starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. Pool Flicks return in June for a third season, this year with family friendly films to serve GVR member households with kids of all ages. Floaties and costumes are welcome at Pool Flicks and concessions are available poolside. Andy Hersey
Both the Pool Flicks and Under the Stars programs are free of charge, with no reservation required. Your GVR card is your ticket. On June 16, brave the heat for a poolside Dad’s Day dance at East Center. Beer and Brats (and other beverages) and live music by Sonorous are included in the $20 ticket available via ActiveNet or at Customer Service Desks. On July 11, get out of the heat and enjoy some country rock and silly drinking songs by Arizona’s own Andy Hersey, performing at the West Center Auditorium.
No Sand Beach Band
July 25, join GVR’s Valley Players for a reader’s theatre romp in three short pieces that are sure to be super relatable, featuring HOA high-jinx and pharmaceutical marital adventures. August 18, the No Sand Beach Band will play your favorite beach party tunes for a dance indoors at West Center. September 23, join the Jukebox Junqies poolside at Las Campanas for a summer’s end party.
