WHAT IS THE GUYANA ISLAMIC TRUST?
The Guyana Islamic Trust (GIT) is a multi-faceted, non-pro t Islamic organization comprising several arms, departments, and administrative districts across Guyana’s coastal regions. Established in 1977, GIT has been serving the Guyanese community for over 47 years through education, humanitarian relief, and community development.

Education and tazkiyah remain at the heart of the Guyana Islamic Trust’s efforts. They de ne our mission and guide every initiative we undertake. Through our wide-ranging programs nationwide, we continue—by the permission of Allah—to positively impact the lives of hundreds of individuals of all ages and professions.
GIT
INTENSIVE TRAINING PROGRAMS
Shaykh Muhammad Nurudeen Lemu and his wife, Sr. Salatu Sule, facilitated an intensive four-day training program during July 2025 at the GII complex. The sessions covered key areas such as personal development and leadership, tazkiyah, and con ict management for da‘wah and community workers.





Sh. Raouf Zaman—former Murshid of the GIT and Principal of the GII—conducted a special intensive course series exploring the Major Prophets in the Qur’an and the profound Divine Natural Laws

The Guyana Islamic Institute (GII) remains committed to meeting the educational and training needs of promising and vibrant community leaders locally and across the Caribbean, equipping them to effectively respond to the needs of their respective communities.

Alhamdulillah, the Guyana Islamic Sisters’ Institute (GISI) has successfully completed its rst one-year program and is currently in its second academic year with a new batch of students. GISI offers an advanced, intensive, one-year, non-residential program in Qur’an and Islamic Studies. Students also bene t from an ongoing series of skills training sessions.
