Guyana, EU discuss trade bottlenecks, investment priorities –– in high-level meeting

President Dr Irfaan Ali, on Tuesday, met with Deputy Director General of the EU Directorate for International Partnerships, Martin Seychell, and the representative for the Southern and Eastern Caribbean for the European Union Bank, Maria Rojas Gonzalez.The meeting was aimed at gaining a first‑hand understanding of the trade relationship, bottlenecks and challenges between Guyana and EU countries and their private sectors. The EU Investment Bank also expressed its commit‑ ment to working with the Government in priority areas such as health, education, climate and energy security, human capital development, and the expansion of the orange economy.Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hugh Todd; Minister of Public Service, Government Efficiency and Implementation, Zulfikar Ally; EU Ambassador to Guyana, Luca Pierantoni; and the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Sharon Roopchand, were among those present (Office of the President)
