Minister of Housing and Water Collin Croal on Friday conducted an impromptu inspection of the ongoing construction of the new water treatment plant at Five Miles, Bartica. The minister expressed his strong satisfaction with the progress of the $458.1 million project, which is fully funded by the Government of Guyana, and promises to bring reliable, potable water to hundreds of families in the area. This new facility will bring much relief to the communities between Five and Seven Miles, Bartica, who have long faced challenges with their existing water system. By tapping into a new freshwater source, the plant is designed to bring an end to the issue of high iron content, and provide a consistent supply of clean water (MoHW photos)
