President, Dr Irfaan Ali on Sunday took a sip of water from the $1.6 billion Caledonia Water Treatment Plant, confirming that it is safe for human consumption. The facility will provide clean water to over 14,000 residents on the East Bank of Demerara. The plant has the capacity to provide over eight mega litres of potable water, ensuring a reliable 24/7 service to communities stretching from New Hope to Soesdyke. This project marks another step in the government’s commitment to improving access to essential resources in all communities across Guyana (DPI photos)
