President, Dr Irfaan Ali on Thursday met with the Director of the Museum of Comparative Zoology (MCZ), Harvard University, Mr Gonzalo Giribet at the Office of the President on Shiv Chanderpaul Drive.During the discussions, the partnership between Guyana and the university was explored with a focus on promoting and studying the country’s abundant biodiversity. Director of Presidential Affairs, Mrs Marcia Nadir-Sharma and Senior Director for Climate and REDD+, Ms Pradeepa Bholanath, were also at the meeting. President Ali also received a courtesy visit from United States Congressman Richard Crawford at the Office of the President. Discussions focused on the prospect of a partnership between the Government of Guyana and the State of Arkansas in the area of agriculture, especially as it relates to education and private sector investment. During the meeting, President Ali also spoke about the strong relations between Guyana and the US and Guyana’s pursuit of becoming a regional leader in energy security. At the end of the meeting, President Ali presented Congressman Crawford with a signed cricket bat. (Office of the President photos)
