Cultural extravaganza kick-starts Amerindian Heritage Month festivities
Amerindian Heritage month was on Friday launched at the National Park under the theme, “Sustaining our cultural heritage and identity while contributing to One Guyana”. The night’s proceedings took the form of a cultural extravaganza which featured just around 127 performers from various indigenous villages across the country and showcased true Amerindian culture. During the evening’s proceedings, acting Prime Minister, Gail Teixeira affirmed that the government remains committed to empowering Indigenous communities across the country by making significant investments in critical areas.
