At Rainier Guest Services, LLC our mission is to provide quality products and services to our guests and visitors in a manner which preserves the environment.
The following is a quick glimpse at our accomplishments for 2017
• Over 60,000 pounds of commingle recycling was diverted from the landfill.
561 gallons of cooking oil was recycled by turning it into Biodiesel
• 79 pounds of ink cartridges were recycled
103 pounds of batteries were recycled
• 90 pounds of fluorescent light bulbs were recycled
• 22,920 pounds of food scraps were composted
• 665 pounds of used clothing/bedding and used amenities were donated to a local homeless shelter.
• 465 pounds of scrap metal was recycled.
• 1,224 pounds of items were repurposed/reused.
• Over 23% of total waste was diverted or recycled in 2017
Water Hydration Stations
In 2015 we finished installation of 3 hydration stations in 3 different locations
• In 2017 almost 70,000 bottles were filled at the stations
• Disposable water bottles were not sold in 2017.
Propane Vehicles
In 2015 we replaced 4 of our transportation vans and one maintenance truck with LPG operated vehicles.
• Propane burns cleaner than gasoline or diesel
• Emissions were reduced by approximately 20,500 pounds of CO2
