A Note from Mr. Moore’s Desk
Time flies!Who knows, maybe the best is yet to come!We’ve had an eventful summer at Green Spring, so far. Notable highlights include an epic Independence Day celebration, a dramatic and re-formatted Green Spring-Elkridge (75 year) tournament and the recently completed 2026 MSGAWomen’s amateur. Each of these events was complicated at some point by exciting or extreme weather but all ultimately came off without a hitch. I applaud my team for working in such extreme conditions to deliver the experiences our members expect. Fortunately, our rainfall deficit has been reduced. Here’s hoping the worst of this summer ’ s heat is behind us.
There’s a lot of summer left and much more fun to be had at Green Spring this summer. Duncan will be hosting a Men’s & Ladies’Tennis ProAm tournament onAugust 8, the Men’s,Women’s and Mixed doublesTennis championships are coming up midAugust and our Parent-Child Golf tournament will take place on 8/30.Tom will continue to offer the best of the season ’ s culinary offerings and our unbeatable sunset with world renowned southside patio combo will go on for quite a while. If you have not yet dipped a toe in the pool our experienced our newest sports offering, Padel, come see us for a treat.
My team and I want all of your visits to be happy and memorable and for all of the RIGHT reasons.We want you to feel seen, heard, welcome and important.At our dining staff meetings, I will sometimes ask our team members to share a recent and memorable happy interaction with a member.I am happy to report that such recollections are always quickly forthcoming. I believe these moments are good for morale, that it is good for newly hired staff to hear these stories and that our culture of engagement and mutual respect has an influence on our staff turnover, which is lower than it has been for some time.We were sorry to lose a veteran server,Avalise Smith who recently graduated from Stevenson University with a post graduate degree in Speech Pathology.We will miss her.Avalise’s parting words for the club were expressed on the employee chalkboard….”Peace out, Green Spring,Thanks for Everything …HEARTAvalise SMILE.”Please know that your stories matter to us, too, and can be the source of inspiration.
