Patriotic Pointers Summer Specialty Shows

The GSPCMN Summer Specialties followed the 4th of July Holiday this year. We adopted the theme “Patriotic Pointers” to celebrate our Independence Day and our GSP’s. The holiday may have affected our attendance somewhat this year, but we managed a good entry of class animals to be able to award 4pt majors to the winners and a great turn out for our all breed obedience and rally trials on Saturday and Sunday. Our first specialty was judged by one of the most friendly and positive judges yet, Judge Ronald Horn, who truly enjoyed his assignment of 24 conformation dogs, 7 juniors, 7 peewee competitors, and 18 rally dogs. We awarded beautiful prizes made by Christine Huebner. Our second trial was judged by the lovely Jean Shepard. We again had 24 total dogs and 7 juniors. Prizes consisted of Towels and toys for the dog. We had two obedience trials on Friday this year under the provisional judge Patty Fulton who greatly enjoyed her assignment of 25 dogs between the 2 trials. Phil and Kathy Rustad judged our all breed obedience and rally trials on Saturday and Sunday where we awarded Specialty GSP placings and toys in all classes.
We’d like to give a special thanks to everyone who volunteered at the event, supported the raffle and donated prizes, raffle items or sponsored our awards! Thank you to our judges for being a pleasure to work with and judging our show. Next year our Summer Specialties will be moving to the Summer Solstice Cluster in Cambridge, MN on June 19-22nd, 2024 for a total of 6 opportunities to show in 4 days, as well as sweepstakes two of the days.
