The Girl Scouts organization is the world’s largest leadership development organization for girls. In partnership with committed adults, girls develop qualities that will serve them all their lives - such as strong values, social conscience, and conviction about their own potential and self-worth.
Girl Scouting of today goes beyond traditional camping and crafts. The girls of today explore math and science, learn about diversity, good citizenship, leadership and teamwork. Girl Scouting is the place where girls experience the fun, friendship and power of girls together.
A Letter From Our CEO
Girl Scouts are making the world a better place every single day. And they are discovering their own interests and potential in the process. All girls have the ability to do this, but sometimes they need an extra hand - a support system - to help them unleash their power. That’s where Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois comes in.
Our support helps them take on that new challenge, whether it’s braving a campout for the first time or trying their hand at programming a robot. Every girl is already the best version of herself, but our support gives her the courage and confidence to explore anything her heart desires.
Join us on Friday, September 11, 2026 at Camp Torqua for our annual United We Lead Gala and help us reach our goal of raising $135,000. When we unleash the power in girls, they are unstoppable.

United We Lead is the flagship fundraising event for Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois. Now in its 8th year, we are excited to celebrate with you once again. The United We Lead Gala brings together a wide range of people who share the same desire to be a difference in girls’ lives.
United We Lead Gala – Unleash Her Power will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026 at our very own Camp Torqua in Edwardsville, IL. See firsthand why girls love making memories at this diamond in the woods. The night will be filled with dinner, entertainment, auctions, featured speakers and testimonials. We look forward to celebrating with you as we build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
