WELCOME TO A NEW GIRL SCOUT YEAR
One of the things I love most about our movement is that there is no single way to be a Girl Scout. For one girl, it might be making her first best friend at a troop meeting. For another, it might be sleeping under the stars, learning to paddle a kayak, planning a community service project, being a cookie entrepreneur to fund a big dream, or standing in front of a crowd and realizing, “I can do this.” That’s what we want Girl Scouts to be: a place where girls can be themselves, try new things, discover what they love, and build the courage and confidence to take on whatever comes next. To make that happen, we are investing in ourselves. At GSNWGL, we are taking a close look at what girls and families are telling us they want from Girl Scouts, and then we’re working to make those things happen. You’ve told us you want more opportunities to get outside and experience camp. So, we’re bringing back camp programs girls and families have asked for, along with a printed camp guide to make it easier to see what’s available and plan your next adventure. We’re expanding Adventures on the Go™ with a second mobile unit, allowing us to bring more outdoor experiences directly to communities across our council. We’re looking at bigger councilled events that give girls something to get excited about, opportunities to gather with other Girl Scouts, try something new, make memories, and feel part of something bigger. And we’re continuing to invest in our properties, so they are places where girls want to be, places where they can explore, learn, get outside, take healthy risks, and experience things they may not have the opportunity to do anywhere else. These investments are about much more than buildings, equipment, events, or program guides. They are about creating experiences girls will remember. We’re also investing in the people and support behind those experiences. We’re improving the tools and processes our volunteers use, working to respond more quickly and consistently, and making sure our staff is focused on helping girls and volunteers have a great Girl Scout experience. We’re also investing in growth. Growing Girl Scouts isn’t simply about increasing a number on a membership report. It’s about making sure more girls have the opportunity to experience friendship, belonging, adventure, leadership, and the confidence that comes from trying something new. It’s about making sure more adults have the opportunity to be the trusted volunteers and mentors who make those experiences possible. And we need your help growing it. There are girls in your community who haven’t discovered Girl Scouts yet. There are adults who would make incredible troop leaders, volunteers, mentors, and role models who simply haven’t been asked. If your daughter loves Girl Scouts, tell someone about it. Invite a friend to an event. Share a favorite Girl Scout memory. Encourage another parent, grandparent, or caring adult to volunteer. Sometimes, one invitation is all it takes for another girl to find her place here. And this is just the beginning. We’ll keep asking questions. We’ll keep hearing from girls, families, and volunteers. We’ll continue to pay attention to what is working, what could be better, and what girls want to experience next. Your ideas and feedback will continue to shape the programs, properties, and experiences we create together. We’re excited about where we’re going, and we’re even more excited to build it together—with our girls, families, and volunteers leading the way. The future of Girl Scouts is not something we build for girls. It is something we build with them, and with you.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE THAT LASTS
Support Her Troop Adventure When you step in to help your Girl Scout, she’ll see you in a whole new light, not just as her parent or family member, but as part of her adventure. When you volunteer with Girl Scouts, you help create a space where girls can truly be themselves. You’ll watch them take on challenges, lift each other up, and build confidence that lasts a lifetime, all through fun, friendship, and community. You don’t need special training or experience, just a willingness to show up and support girls as they explore the world around them.
Be Part of Her Journey At Girl Scouts, we believe every girl’s success is rooted in a circle of support, and that includes you. Whether you have an hour, a weekend, or a special skill to share, your time makes a lasting difference. We invite each family to contribute at least five hours of their time each year to troop support. It’s not just about helping; it’s about being there as your Girl Scout discovers who she is and who she can become. When you reach out to your troop leader, share how you’d like to help. Saying “whatever you need” is kind, but being specific helps leaders put your talents to great use.

Be the Inspiration You Remember Think back to when you were a kid. Who inspired you? Who listened, encouraged, and believed in you? You can be that person for today’s girls. Your talents can help them shine. And along the way, you’ll grow too. • Experience the joy of being a role model and mentor. • Discover your own leadership style as girls discover theirs. • Meet new people and make friends in your community. • Feel the pride of helping create a world where everyone has a seat at the table. • When you give a little of your time, you give girls the world.
Volunteers—Help Us Plant More Troops! Girls in our community are waiting for a troop, and leaders like you make it possible. Recruit a new troop leader by December 31, 2026, who registers, completes onboarding, and starts a new troop, and you’ll both receive a special “Where Leadership Grows” sweatshirt as a thank-you! New troop leaders can also receive free first-year membership and experience boxes filled with meeting supplies for Daisy or Brownie troops. Scan the QR code to let us know about the leader you referred and request your sweatshirt.
Ways You and Your Family Can Support the Troop Every small act adds up to big impact. Here are just a few ideas to get started: • Share your passion for the outdoors, STEM, entrepreneurship, or life skills
• Chaperone a meeting or outing
• Drive for field trips or events
• Be on time for drop-off & pick-up
• Babysit for other volunteers’ children
• Help sort cookies or fall product for your troop
• Take photos and share memories
• Teach a craft, song, game, or skill
• Return forms, calls, and emails promptly
• Organize snacks or help plan a party
Ways to Say Thank You to Girl Scout Volunteers Volunteers are the heart of Girl Scouts. They dedicate their time, energy, and care to creating meaningful experiences for girls, and even a simple gesture of gratitude can mean a great deal. • Just say it! A smile and a “thank you” go a long way. • Send a thank-you note (from your Girl Scout or from your family, or both!). • Nominate a volunteer for a Volunteer of Excellence Award. • Coordinate a small gift or gesture of appreciation from troop families. • Or, the best thank-you of all—lend a hand yourself.

NEW for 2027!
Girl Scout Sparkables™ and Patch Pals™
We’re excited to share the latest news for the 2027 Girl Scout Cookie Program! Girl Scouts announced two new specialty products: Girl Scout Sparkables™ and Patch Pals™. Both will be available exclusively online through Digital Cookie and shipped directly to customers during the 2027 Cookie Program. Girl Scout Sparkables™, developed with Partake®, are crunchy oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips and colorful sprinkles. Produced in a facility designed to avoid the nine major food allergens recognized by the FDA, they give families navigating common food allergies another way to participate in the fun of Girl Scout Cookie season. Patch Pals™, developed with BARK, creators of BarkBox, are a first for Girl Scouts—cookies made especially for dogs! These soft-baked, blueberry muffin flavored dog treats are made with blueberries and honey and feature four “patch” designs inspired by Girl Scout experiences. For the 2027 Cookie Program, our traditional cookie lineup will remain $6 per package. Girl Scout Sparkables™ will be $7 per package, and Patch Pals™ will be $8 per package. As online exclusives, Girl Scout Sparkables™ and Patch Pals™ are additional specialty offerings, available in limited quantities. Our familiar core lineup remains the foundation of the Cookie Program and will continue to be available through our traditional sales channels. The online format allows girls to offer products that may appeal to customers with specific interests or needs—whether that’s a family looking for an allergy-friendly option or someone who would love to include their dog in cookie season—without adding another product for troops to order, store, transport, or manage as local inventory. It also gives girls another reason to direct customers to their Digital Cookie storefronts and an opportunity to reach customers beyond their usual circles.

Girl Advisory Board (GAB) GSNWGL’s Girl Advisory Board (GAB) is made up of passionate Girl Scouts in grades 8–12 from across our council who meet regularly to share ideas, provide feedback, and help guide council decisions. From improving programs, suggesting enhancements, and advocating for what our members need, these Girl Scouts are making a real difference. "GAB is an amazing opportunity to grow your leadership skills! I love to ensure that girls get a voice in executive decisions!" —Jasmine J., GAB Executive Chair GAB isn’t just about sharing opinions; it’s about learning leadership in action. Members practice leadership roles within the group, learn how parliamentary procedure works, and exercise their public speaking skills—all while embracing sisterhood moments with other older Girl Scouts. Highest Awards
When Girl Scout Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors want to elevate their service by creating a measurable and sustainable change through a project they develop and implement within the community, they can choose to take on the challenge of earning Girl Scouting’s highest honors: the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards. These awards exemplify the spirit of leadership and service, requiring Girl Scouts to identify issues within their communities, develop creative solutions, and lead a project that creates a lasting change. Scan the QR code to learn more! “Working on my Gold Award pushed me to meet and work with new people,” says Gold Award Girl Scout Sienna K. “It makes you think in a more innovative manner, which helped me further my leadership skills. NEW POSSIBILITIES. BUILT FOR HER.
Investing in New Experiences at the East Girl Scout Center Our council is committed to investing in the Girl Scout experience by improving our properties and creating new opportunities for girls to explore, learn, build confidence, and have fun. At our East Girl Scout Center in Appleton, WI, that commitment is already taking shape. This year, we added a new low ropes challenge course that troops can reserve to strengthen problem-solving, build confidence, improve communication, and develop teamwork. We will install a new gaga pit this fall, followed by an archery pavilion planned for spring 2027. We are developing plans for a major first-floor renovation that will create even more ways for Girl Scouts to gather, learn, and stay overnight. Planned spaces include a bunkroom, innovation lab, imagination space, troop lounge, remodeled Friendship Hall event space, upgraded conference room, sensory room, and caretaker space. We will complete detailed plans this winter, and construction will begin as funding becomes available. Outdoors, we are working to expand the experiences available with an outdoor kitchen, overnight cabin, and platform tenting areas, with planning and initial work beginning this year as funding allows. Looking further ahead, we envision a large three-season outdoor pavilion to support larger events, programs, and day camps. These improvements reflect our ongoing commitment to creating welcoming, exciting spaces where Girl Scouts can try new things, build lasting skills, and make memories together. And now it’s your troop’s turn! We invite troops from across the council to come check out the low ropes course and take on an adventure of their own. Gather your troop, challenge yourselves, work together, and see what you can accomplish on the course!
“Working with donors from start to finish on a project like this is inspiring. Thanks to Karen Kollmann, former Board member of GSNWGL, we were able to bring this course from an idea to reality. The opportunity to bring her niece’s troop to be the first to traverse the course makes it even better!” —Kate Corey, GSNWGL Chief Development Officer In April 2026, we celebrated the ribbon-cutting of the newly constructed low ropes course, which marks an exciting completion of the first phase of GSNWGL’s vision to transform the East Girl Scout Center into a destination for adventure, learning, connection, and leadership, and it’s just the beginning of what’s to come.

More Girls
As GSNWGL looks toward the next phases of its East Girl Scout Center vision, we look forward to opening doors for more girls and creating spaces where they can build courage, confidence, and character for years to come. An Advisory Council has been established to support GSNWGL leadership by providing strategic recommendations and fundraising best practices as we bring our headquarters’ property vision to life.
Members include Marne Keller-Krikava, Renee Boldt, Susan McFadden, Kayla Hill, and Sarah Martin.

Create a chalk message about joining Girl Scouts outside your school or home. • If you are in a troop, ask your troop leader if you can invite a non-Girl Scout friend to attend your meeting with you to try it out! • Work with your troop or other Girl Scouts in your school and ask if you can share a message about joining Girl Scouts on the announcements. You could even get creative and create your own commercial.
