Let’s make the Girl Scout sign and say the Girl Scout Promise together. Would anyone like to lead it? On my honor, I will try: To serve God* and my country, To help people at all times, And to live by the Girl Scout Law. *Members may substitute for the word God in accordance with their own spiritual beliefs.
Icebreaker:
Have the girls say their name and their favorite ice cream flavor. If you like that one too, high five!
Pick at least three of the following activities to complete to earn this petal! You can do these all in one meeting or over several meetings if you wish. Feel free to be creative, and modify or supplement these ideas with your own activities around the theme of being considerate and caring.
Activity 1: Talk about it! Ask the girls:
e What does being considerate and caring mean to you? e How could you show your mom, dad, or caregiver you care about them? e How could you show your grandparents you care? e How could you show your pet you care? e How do you show your classmates you care? Activity 2: Share and care! Show and tell: Have the girls bring in an item from home that someone who is considerate and caring gave to them, or a photo of someone who is considerate and caring. (Be sure to send parents a text reminder the day before the meeting!) Take turns showing and telling about their item. If anyone forgot their item, they can just tell about it.
