FAMILY MEETING AGENDA: The family meeting is where you discuss meeting logistics, troop dues, uniforms, and collect or distribute the health history and annual permission forms. This is also a great opportunity to find other volunteers for the troop. If your troop is entering its second year, you will also share the financial status of the troop.

Girl Scout Experience Box We're a brand new troop - we have no supplies yet. How can we get started? The Girl Scout Experience Box is Year One made simple! It is a complementary box sent directly to the Troop Leader. There is a full series for Daisy and Brownie (limited starter box for Junior) You will be automatically registered and will begin receiving the box once you have 4 girls in your troop Each box includes simple scripts, easy instructions, and ready to- use supplies for fun, stress -free meetings. Start with a welcome box, then receive up to seven themed boxes, depending on when your troop gets going.

It will account for the number of girls registered to your troop when it is shipped. New girls will be counted in the next box. It is available in

both English and Spanish.

PATCH PROGRAMS

GSUSA offers cultural patches, starting the Girl Scout year with Hispanic Heritage Month. Our patches are rocker-style patches and they go around a center trefoil. Participate in each of the cultural months highlighted and complete the circle. Each of the patches in this series are $2 ©2021 Girl Scouts of the USA. All Rights Reserved. Cookie Queens debuted August 7 for a limited run. It is a documentary that follows girls through a cookie season. Plan a visit to your local theatre, or a troop viewing party!

GIRL SCOUT TRADITIONS: INVESTITURE CEREMONY An investiture ceremony – where you officially welcome new members to the troop - might look something like this: • Start in the Friendship Circle and sing a song, like the Brownie Smile song, and recite the Girl Scout Promise and Law together. • While in the circle, take turns introducing yourselves and one thing that they love about Girl Scouts. • The leader pins the new girl with a World Trefoil Pin and/or Girl Scout Membership Pin and shakes her hand using the Girl Scout handshake, welcoming her into the world of Girl Scouts. • Close the ceremony with the Friendship Circle Squeeze.
