Katherine C. The 2023 class of Gold Award Girl Scouts celebrated their achievements on Saturday, April 15, with the annual Gold Award Celebration and Brunch at The Worthington Hotel. With Jennifer Trevino, executive director of Leadership Fort Worth, serving as emcee, the Girl Scouts and their friends and families heard about her time as a young woman in Girl Scouts. Keynote speaker, Lynda Clayton, a 2022 Gold Award Girl Scout and GSUSA Gold Award Scholarship recipient, shared wisdom with the audience around the Girl Scout Law and her experience earning her own Gold Award. “I end my time with you today with a challenge: Don’t forget the little sisters. You’ve achieved something amazing, and you should be beyond proud of yourself, but your journey doesn’t stop here. You now have an incredibly special opportunity. You can live the lessons the Girl Scouts and the Gold Award have taught you so when a future sister looks up at you she sees the embodiment of the Girl Scout Law…a moral code…a way of life…and she’ll say, ‘I want to be like you.
