ing to keep learn COMPETENCE-BASED LEARNING FOR TODAY’S CLASSROOM Building Blocks is a competence-based project with a consistent and coordinated content sequence in all Secondary areas. It offers the possibility of incorporating active methodologies, using cooperative learning and thinking strategies, promoting personal and social skills for emotion management, linguistic communication and the development of entrepreneurship in a flexible way. It attends to academic and professional orientation, whilst embracing equality and inclusion, all within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Assessment
Building Blocks contains a wide range of materials that help you organise the assessment process: • Digital assessment app: to evaluate the acquisition of key skills; taking into account the assessment criteria and learning standards of the Andalusian curriculum. • Predesigned assessment tests: a selection of printable model tests to assess content and competence-based learning.

• Predesigned assessment records: Ready-made tables which help keep track of grades and cover the criteria and standards for each unit. • Specific documentation: which includes didactic monographs of current educational topics - such as external assessment, rubrics and a portfolio that combines theoretical foundation with practical training. • Assessment tools: a compilation of rubrics, goals/targets and other resources for assessment, self-assessment and co-assessment.

A wide variety of resources to meet the diverse needs of students’ motivational factors, interests, rhythms and learning styles: • Theoretical resources for curricular adaptation (a selection of content with different formats and approaches). • Additional worksheets. • Extension worksheets and the development of skills. • Other resources that enhance the use of active, participatory and research methodologies that encourage both individual and cooperative work and peer learning. Teachers are provided with a Guide for exploring resources on diversity and inclusion as well as basic proposals to make the most of their use.

The practical course plan not only meets regulatory requirements, it also allows teachers to easily identify the proposed timing and content sequence. Additionally, it provides information about where to apply it and how it works. It explains the assessment criteria and learning standards specified in each didactic unit and how they are assessed.

Building Blocks incorporates a flexible proposal for the integration of active methodologies through its educational keys:

SDG Commitment. Establishes the Sustainable Development Goals as a framework for learning. Developing thinking. Proposes strategies to stimulate reflection, “learning how to think” and the development of critical and creative thinking habits. Cooperative learning. Offers techniques to develop the skills that allow us to work together efficiently. Emotional education. Offers emotional management tools to face the challenges of this complex educational stage. Enterprising culture. Promotes entrepreneurial thinking in its three dimensions: personal, social and productive. ICT. Integrates the use of ICT in the learning process itself in a responsible, intelligent and ethical way. Academic and professional orientation. Helps students to get to know themselves, understand the environment and to make decisions that allow them to confidently enter the labour market. Assessment. Incorporates strategies that allow students to participate in the assessment of their learning, analyse “what they have learned” and “how they have learned it”. Linguistic Plan.
