Overview of Semester Intergal Elements I generate my Designs and Imagery through my ideas, the ideas that go into the work I produce is one of the intergal elements to my work. Depending on the brief or idea that the work is based on the design and imagery I produce change to fit. But I like to work and improve as I go along with the design and surprising myself with little ideas that jump into my head as I go along. I seem to work best in that way when it comes to design.
Success My Strengths lay in my design and manipulation of imagery I create. Although I would class myself as a Designer/Illustrator I enjoy Editorial work and feel that I have some from on strength in it, this comes across as I feel that one of my successful projects has been “The WaterMark� editorial piece for the peotry festival in Keswick. I think main reason for this is just how comfortable I was with the brief and about to work with the design how I felt best. But I have really enjoyed creating a comic and getting back into drawing, and a new style of almost just thumbnail rough drawing for the actual final piece. This was a success because it was enjoyable and the reason behind the style was that it was the why I thumbnailed them and really liked the look.
Personality The work I am interested in is illustration such as old Hammer Horror posters from the 1940s-80s, Printmaking (Lino), Ink and loads of texture. When it comes to design a enjoy design that uses these aspects within them, instead of the more clean cut and corporate style design and this is the type on style I try in get thtough in my work, if it fits the brief. I feel that my work is slowly taking its course into the line of work I want like to see myself doing in the future. But at the minute I have loads of ideas of what I want to produce and the work I want to take to New Blood. This includes alot more drawing and illustrating along side using them as design elements and deivices.

Introdustion to the Brief UUOC - Posters A one day brief to design a series of posters and tickets for the University of Cumbria final degree show. The “problem” was that there were specifications to the posters e.g. having to use a set number of text faces or stock images. the posters are aimed at a wide audience to try get as people peoploe to the degree shows as possible. WaterMark - Editorial A live brief to design the editorial piece for the Keswick poetry festival “Words By The Water” The magazine was aimed at the audience that would attend the poetry festival being a older audience. The piece of design was ment to be given out at the festival with highlights of what is on through the week and interviews. Outrageous - Commisitioned Commisitioned work for the club Outrageous in Carlisle, to design a poster, banner and tickets for a cabrete night for the University of Cumbria. Taking inspiration from french musical posters, aimed at the stidents of the university. 2:39 - Comic Personal work that was inspirated by my dissatation, I created a comic that has no straight forward story-line, to experiment with the idea of comics and how they are made. This was a project to see what is it like to be the creator of a comic as I have always been a reader of comics. This will set the place for many other comic ideas I have in the future. The Big Sleep - Competition A Competition for Pengiun Books, to re-design the cover of the crime novel The Big Sleep. Using the idea of the detectives habit of drinking and smoking to create the cover. Aimed at the readers of the novel. Gen II - Branding A live brief to re-design a Cumbrian company Gen II, who specialise in getting young people jobs, designing a logo and stationary for the company that will be suitable for the young people that attend the company and the corporate side of the company,
