CARISLE CASTLE 9 Centurys in the making

Introduction Carisle Castle to me means “history”. It has held kings and queens, it has been fought for by English and Scots alike. But, its not just the history that intreagues me. The architecture itself, makes me feel like i’ve been transported back in time, and i say this because even though we are moving foward into a future full of technological advance’s , its still interesting to me, to see how back a few centurys, they just had tools and books. I have spent alot of time just admiring the building itself because of how articulete the structure is. My faviourite parts of the castle would have to be either up at the queens quarters or in the throne room because thats where royals have spent their time. I’ve not just picked this location because its easy to find facts and talk about it but, because it is signifacant to my ancestory. Back in 1745, the battle of culloden saw Bonnie Prince Charlie lead the jaquibite rebellion towards England. Because carisle was in the middle, the battle would push towards the castle.
