Last year’s edition of Leemail received many commendations for its coverage of mental health issues. This year, we have decided to look at what we believe is also a very important issue — that of discrimination and injustice.
We wanted to shine a light on a particular range of issues that bubble under the surface of our everyday lives. We look at racism, sexism, prostitution and religion, and we lift the lid on the real situations that are all around us. As journalism
students, we believe it is important to bring attention to these issues. Media has always a vital role to play in highlighting different aspects of society, uncomfortable as they may be. Alex Millar, Editor
