WELCOME The Minneapolis Meeting & Event Planner’s Guide is created in partnership with Meet Minneapolis. Meet Minneapolis is an organization that reflects the city’s goals of respecting and recognizing the value of all people. It strives for an environment where everyone has an equitable opportunity for success and happiness in life, and where everyone has the freedom to reach their full potential.
LAND & WATER ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Meet Minneapolis acknowledges and honors the Dakhóta Oyáte (Dakota People), who are the original stewards of the magnificent land and vibrant waterways of Minneapolis. The Dakota, as well as Ojibwe and other Indigenous peoples, cared for the land, lakes, and the Haha Wakpa (Mississippi River) for thousands of years before the arrival of Europeans. Today, this place continues to hold significant spiritual and cultural importance for the strong, resilient, and growing Indigenous community in Minneapolis and Minnesota. This acknowledgement is just the start of our journey as we continually strive to tell the rich and diverse story of Minneapolis.

DEAR MEETING AND EVENT PLANNING PROFESSIONALS: Thank you for considering Minneapolis as your next event destination.
Minneapolis moves forward with purpose, creativity, and resilience. It’s a city that has continually adapted, evolved, and persevered, emerging stronger and more connected each time. That same drive and innovative spirit defines our meetings and events industry. Here, gatherings don’t just take place—they carry meaning, spark progress, and leave a lasting impact. And when you meet in Minneapolis, you become part of that momentum. Our Meet Minneapolis team is here to ensure your event reflects that energy. From strategic planning that builds attendance to lodging coordination and on-site services, we partner with you on many event aspects to create an experience that is seamless, memorable, and distinctly Minneapolis. This city embodies possibility—just like its iconic hometown artist, Prince, who reinvented himself time and again while reshaping music and culture with fearless creativity. That same mindset is embedded in our destination, from the versatility of the Minneapolis Convention Center to the wide range of venues that can transform to meet your needs. Whether you’re planning an intimate gathering or a citywide convention, Minneapolis offers the space and imagination to bring your vision to life. As a true four-season destination, Minneapolis invites attendees to experience something different every time they gather here. Summer brings energy along the Mississippi River and vibrant outdoor events. Fall offers a stunning backdrop of color and crisp air. Winter reveals a city that embraces the season with warmth, ingenuity, and connection. And spring signals renewal, growth, and fresh inspiration. In every season, our cultural districts, theaters, live music venues, and sports scene create opportunities to engage beyond the meeting room. The city’s spirit of resilience and reinvention also is reflected in its culinary landscape. With its first Michelin Guide selections set to arrive in 2027, Minneapolis has earned global recognition as a dining destination that celebrates innovation, diversity, and excellence, exemplified by iconic area favorites and establishments serving groundbreaking Indigenous cuisine.
Minneapolis is a city that understands how to come together, how to adapt, and how to create something meaningful. We invite you to bring your next event here and to be part of a host city that continues to move forward, together. We are excited to welcome you.

Ease and accessibility are part of what makes Minneapolis such a notable host city. With more than 10,000 hotel rooms—many connected by skyway—our compact downtown allows attendees to move around comfortably. Convenient access via Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, a major hub for Delta Air Lines, and light-rail service from the airport directly into downtown ensure a smooth attendee arrival and experience from start to finish.

The City of Lakes is built for meetings that make an impact If you’re looking to host your next event in a city that’s easy to explore and even easier to fall in love with, look no further than Minneapolis, the City of Lakes. Here, planners and attendees can take advantage of wide-ranging transportation options, a wealth of hotel brands, welcoming residents, and an innovative food scene, all while surrounded by nature. Home to the largest convention center in the Upper Midwest, Minneapolis knows how to cater to groups—in 2025, the city hosted 664 meetings and events, welcoming over 659,000 attendees to the Minneapolis Convention Center (MCC). Beyond the convention center, Minneapolis’ distinctive venues range from historic to modern, and the city offers opportunities to explore worldclass museums, exciting professional and college sports games, awe-inspiring public art, over 200 miles of biking and hiking trails, 22 lakes, and the Mississippi River. TOP-NOTCH VENUES The MCC provides planners with all the space they need— 1.6 million square feet of it, to be exact, including a 3,400fixed-seat auditorium, 475,000 square feet of exhibit space, 87 meeting rooms, an 18,000-square-foot ballroom, and a 9,000-square-foot ballroom. Just 20 minutes away from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, a Delta Air Lines hub, the MCC’s location provides the ultimate connectivity, attached to the 10-mile, climate-controlled Minneapolis Skyway System for easy access to premier hotels, retail, restaurants, bakeries, sports venues, and more. Recent renovations include upgraded lighting and ventilation systems; streamlined technology; additional eco-friendly acoustics; and a warmer, more modern aesthetic. Minneapolis’ top-notch sports stadiums make for winning event locales. U.S. Bank Stadium, home of the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings and the center of activity for the upcoming 2028 NFL draft, stands as a shining beacon of excitement in the heart of downtown. With 13 event spaces, 66,200 stadium seats, and six luxury clubs, big ideas thrive within its striking silhouette. Target Field , home of MLB’s Minnesota Twins, offers oneof-a-kind event experiences. In addition to 15 other venues, the stadium now rents out its luxurious Champions Club, an
MINNEAPOLIS CONVENTION CENTER
exclusive setting for up to 400. Target Center, home court of the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves and the WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx (four-time league championship winners), features event spaces like U.S. Bank Back Court Club, Lexus Courtside Club, and Six One Two Lounge with its modern farmhouse design. When it comes to conference hotels, several in the city stand out. Hilton Minneapolis, the largest hotel in Minnesota, boasts a fantastic city center location and breathtaking downtown views, along with 82,152 square feet of total event space. Minneapolis Marriott City Center features exceptional hospitality in a recently renovated setting, with an 11,890-squarefoot ballroom and its signature Aurora Restaurant & Bar. Boasting the most meeting space in Minneapolis outside of the MCC, Hyatt Regency Minneapolis and its 130,000-plus square feet of function areas are situated along Nicollet Avenue, with a world-class StayFit Athletic Club on the sixth floor. In the city’s historic Mill District, Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel, The Depot, is steps from the Mississippi River with 23 event rooms available, including the stunning Depot Pavilion. TWIN CITY Across the Mississippi River, St. Paul is Minneapolis’ laid-back twin, with many standout venues of its own. Grand Casino Arena, home of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild and the two-time Walter Cup champions, the PWHL’s Minnesota Frost, is a state-of-the-art arena that has hosted everything from state high school hockey tournaments to national conventions and concerts. With a staff of event experts and nine rental options, the venue puts planners and attendees in the heart of the capital city’s action. Allianz Field—St. Paul’s newest stadium and home to the MLS’ Minnesota United FC—offers distinct event spaces like the Stadium Club, along with custom catering, field access, on-field photo ops, and private stadium tours. CHS Field, home of Minor League Baseball’s St. Paul Saints (a Triple-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins), delivers an intimate, yet lively atmosphere, with indoor and outdoor event spaces perfect for casual corporate outings, team-building activities, and networking events.

SUBURBAN SWEET SPOTS Minneapolis’ inviting suburbs offer all the amenities you need, with the bonus of being parking paradises. Whether you’re seeking chef-driven dining, exciting entertainment, or hotel options that go above and beyond, these meeting hubs don’t disappoint. For the ultimate airport convenience, meet in the southern suburb of Bloomington, where the iconic Mall of America and its connected hotels offer an “under one roof ” experience. Here, attendees can shop hundreds of stores, dine at concepts like CRAVE Mall of America, experience thrills at the indoor Nickelodeon Universe amusement park, and relax at Radisson Blu Mall of America and JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America, each with their own selection of meeting spaces. The Cedar + Stone, Urban Table restaurant at the JW Marriott and FireLake Grill House + Cocktail Bar within Radisson Blu provide elegant private and semiprivate dining options. St. Louis Park, part of the Westopolis area, is home to attractions such as The Shops at West End, made up of retail and dining spots like Punch Bowl Social, where groups come together over air hockey, giant Scrabble, bowling, and more. In upscale Edina, The Westin Edina Galleria hotel features free parking, 9,021 square feet of event space, and proximity to Southdale Center, while the 50th & France area exudes a bustling, stylish vibe, full of high-end retail, exceptional eateries, and a vibrant plaza. For an immersive dining experience, book an event at Robbinsdale’s Travail Kitchen and Amusements, featuring tableside service, curated beverage pairings, and inventive tasting menus, all from an award-winning culinary team.
NO. 1 FOR WOMEN’S SPORTS
Did you know? • The Twin Cities is home to six professional women’s teams, including the Minnesota Lynx, a four-time WNBA championship team, and the PWHL’s two-time league champions, the Minnesota Frost. • Since 2012, Minneapolis has been one of only four U.S. cities to average 3,500 or more fans per game at NCAA Division I women’s basketball and volleyball matches. • The city’s Minnesota Vixen is the longest continuously operating women’s tackle football team in the U.S. • Minneapolis’ Ridder Arena—home ice for the University of Minnesota Twin Cities’ women’s ice hockey team—was the first arena in the U.S. built specifically for women’s collegiate hockey.
WEALTH OF CULTURE In Minneapolis, community is king, and its diverse cultures are celebrated and uplifted. While in town for your gathering, be sure to check out the city’s seven designated cultural districts, each with a unique sense of identity. 38th Street: Marked by the tragedy of George Floyd’s killing in 2020, the 38th Street district has become a historic landmark that is home to George Floyd Square, a sacred place of healing filled with art, offerings, and murals. After taking time to reflect, enjoy a warm brew at Bichota Coffee —a Black and womanowned cafe—then take a stroll through Powderhorn Park. Cedar Avenue South: Somali American culture thrives in Cedar Avenue South, with an abundance of emerging businesses providing Somali goods and food, such as Sagal Restaurant and Baarakallah Somali Cuisine. Wow attendees at the Cedar Cultural Center, a hub for global music and dance. Central Avenue: Spanning the northeast outskirts of downtown and moving through several northern Minneapolis suburbs, the Central Avenue district is influenced by a variety of heritages. Try Qahwah House for Yemeni coffee and tea and head over to the “Welcome to Northeast Minneapolis” and Eastside Food Co-op murals for a group photo. East Lake Street: An epicenter of Latin culture, East Lake Street boasts attractions like Midtown Global Market, Mercado Central, and the Midtown Greenway Regional Trail for walking and biking. Stop by the Somali Museum of Minnesota to gather and learn on the ground level of the Midtown Exchange building. Franklin Avenue East: Rich with Indigenous history, this district features opportunities to engage with Anishinabe and Dakota cultures. Take a group tour with Oyate Hotanin, explore public artworks, and try Indigenous foods at Gatherings Cafe. Lowry Avenue North: Drive between the gleaming arches on the Lowry Avenue Bridge to access this hidden gem in North Minneapolis. Savor traditional diner fare at The Lowry Cafe, grab a drink at Tooties On Lowry, or explore markets like Good Deal Oriental Foods and So Low Meat Market. West Broadway: Home to the The Capri Theater, the site of Prince’s first-ever solo show in 1979, West Broadway is a historic center of Black culture, entrepreneurship, and artistic expression. Here, Sammy’s Avenue Eatery serves up sandwiches and banana pudding, while Juxtaposition Arts supports creative youth and offers private event space.

DOWNTOWN EAST & MILL DISTRICT Downtown East is perhaps one of the most exciting, up-andcoming areas of the city’s expanding downtown. Once home to mills and rail yards, this district has transformed into a lively hub of dining, entertainment, and business. With its combination of historic charm, modern venues, cultural institutions, and a thriving weekend farmers market, Downtown East provides meetings with plenty of distinctive Minneapolis charm. At the heart of Downtown East is U.S. Bank Stadium, one of the neighborhood’s defining landmarks, which has hosted the Super Bowl, X Games, and global superstars like Taylor Swift and Beyoncé, and will soon host the 2028 NFL draft. Next door sits The Commons, a 4.2-acre park that frequently hosts outdoor events, fitness programs, and other activities. A few blocks away, the historic Armory, once home to the former Minneapolis Lakers professional basketball team, serves as a midsize hub for music and events. Within Downtown East lies the smaller Mill District, set along the mighty Mississippi River. This area, known for its flour-milling past, is now a cultural and entertainment hot spot. Its Mill City Museum, built into the ruins of the tragedystriken Washburn A Mill, provides a fascinating and interactive peek into milling history, while the renowned Guthrie Theater stands as an architectural marvel, boasting three stages and the gravity-defying cantilever called the “Endless Bridge.” The theater provides backstage tours and private event space for up to 1,100, and it is now home to Indígena by Owamni, a James Beard Award-winning restaurant from Chef Sean Sherman that champions Indigenous cuisine.
GOLD MEDAL PARK
Just a couple blocks away, Mill District Event Spaces offers a premier venue with breathtaking views and full-service catering, making it ideal for weddings, corporate functions, and workshops. Attendees also might enjoy Gold Medal Park, a 7.4-acre riverside retreat adorned with striking sculptures from the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden’s diverse collection. Nearby, West River Parkway leads to the beloved Stone Arch Bridge. The picturesque bridge offers unmatched vistas of the city skyline and St. Anthony Falls in the Mississippi River. Dining options in Downtown East cater to every palate. Umbra Minneapolis, within the Canopy by Hilton Minneapolis Mill District, offers seasonal bistro fare inspired by area farms, while Chloe, also within the hotel, serves up sharable French dishes. For a taste of Argentina, head over to Boludo for empanadas and some of the best pizza in town. Those seeking a lively pub atmosphere will enjoy Day Block Brewing Co., where house-made pizzas and craft beers pair perfectly with its rentable historic taproom. Finally, for a true Downtown East experience, attendees can take a morning stroll through the Mill City Farmers Market, which runs every Saturday from May through October.

FIRST AVENUE
HENNEPIN THEATRE DISTRICT Full of dazzling lights and an air of excitement, this area showcases some of the best entertainment in Minneapolis
Minneapolis is known for its arts scene, and the Hennepin Theatre District centered on Hennepin Avenue downtown is where you can immerse groups in the magic of performances. Characterized by illuminated marquees, live music venues, and buzzy dining options, this area is a grand destination for an unforgettable “dinner and a show” bonding experience. The district is home to three historic theaters—Orpheum Theatre, State Theatre, and Pantages Theatre—all operated by Hennepin Arts. These venues host a diverse array of performances, including concerts, speakers, and touring Broadway shows, and also accommodate private events. Planners can take advantage of customized bulk-ticketing services to treat their attendees to an unforgettable evening. Hennepin Arts also runs the nearby Dudley Riggs Theatre, home of the Brave New Workshop, which showcases a unique and unapologetic brand of improv sketch comedy. Jack Link’s Legend Lounge, located on the ground floor of The Hennepin event center, is a cozy space filled with ornate details and abundant natural light, featuring specialty cocktails, wine, beer, nonalcoholic beverages, and snacks. Its 1,787 square feet of event space hosts up to 119 attendees reception-style. For a breath of fresh air, The Hennepin also provides a rooftop venue accommodating up to 80 attendees.
Music enthusiasts will appreciate the iconic and rentable First Avenue, one of the longest-running independently owned and operated venues in the U.S. A Minneapolis epicenter for live entertainment, First Avenue garnered fame as musician Prince’s testing ground and one of the settings for his 1984 movie, “Purple Rain.” Don’t forget to snap a group photo by the venue’s exterior “star wall.” Nearby, Skyway Theatre features several performance and event spaces, like Studio B and The Loft, that cater to groups of varying sizes. The district offers many dining options suitable for groups. CRAVE American Kitchen & Sushi Bar offers rooftop seating and elegant private dining rooms for up to 80, while Union Rooftop features a year-round, retractable, glass-enclosed rooftop providing breathtaking views of the cityscape no matter the season. Scratch-made food has been the staple of employee-owned downtown hot spot Hell’s Kitchen for over 20 years—the restaurant offers off-site catering and three event spaces. For a Brazilian steakhouse experience, Fogo de Chão accommodates groups ranging from 10 to 100 people. Murray’s Restaurant and Cocktail Lounge , a family-owned steakhouse with famous garlic toast, offers private meeting and event spaces for up to 50 attendees seated. For a relaxed atmosphere, Lyon’s Pub and Kieran’s Irish Pub provide saloon-style settings with regular drink specials. Specializing in house-smoked meats and hand-cut steaks, The Butcher’s Tale caters to corporate events and social gatherings. Or, attendees might head over to Gluek’s Bar & Restaurant, the oldest bar in Minneapolis—dating to 1855—offering live music, German-inspired fare, and beer in a casual, historic setting.

MEET MINNEAPOLIS VISITOR CENTER
WALKER ART CENTER
LORING PARK
Surrounding the 34-acre park of the same name, the Loring Park neighborhood is best known for hosting some of Minneapolis’ biggest festivals. Each June, the Twin Cities Pride Festival takes center stage, celebrating the LGBTQ+ community. July brings the Loring Park Art Festival, transforming the park’s gardens and ponds into a two-day showcase of creativity. Loring Park also is home to the Minneapolis Convention Center and the Loring Greenway, a beautifully landscaped pedestrian path attendees might stroll along pre- or postmeeting. A can’t-miss attraction is the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, the country’s largest urban sculpture park, which features some 60 works of contemporary art, including the city’s iconic “Spoonbridge and Cherry” installation (a classic Minneapolis photo op). From here, attendees also can enjoy striking views of The Basilica of Saint Mary, a breathtaking example of ornamental beaux arts architecture. Adjacent to the sculpture garden, the Walker Art Center serves as both a celebrated hub for modern art and an exceptional event venue. Its contemporary galleries make for inspiring breakout sessions, the rooftop terrace offers a noteworthy setting for receptions, and its indoor Skyline Room presents breathtaking views of downtown via panoramic windows. Nearby, Gai Noi from Chef Ann Ahmed presents fresh Laotian flavors, while Sisyphus Brewing pours tasty beers and features a comedy club, as well as a private party room for up to 100. Additional eateries include the upscale P.S. Steak, which provides an elegant dining experience with two spaces for private events, and classic Italian American eatery Buca di Beppo Minneapolis, featuring hearty family-style meals like baked ziti and eggplant parmigiana. The welcoming hangout Brühaven Craft Co. features craft beers, specialty coffees, and a relaxed 1,200-square-foot gathering space for up to 80 attendees.
NICOLLET
Downtown’s core shopping and entertainment artery is a planner’s paradise Often called the “Main Street of Minneapolis,” Nicollet is the heart of downtown, lined with bars, restaurants, shopping, art, and greenery. This 1-mile, pedestrian-friendly avenue is within walking distance of many meetings hotels, located just minutes from the Minneapolis Convention Center, and ensures attendees have plenty to do during downtime. On the south end of Nicollet, Hyatt Regency Minneapolis boasts 132,000 square feet of meeting space, while Orchestra Hall is home to the Grammy-winning Minnesota Orchestra and offers six event spaces. Just outside, Peavey Plaza is a unique sunken plaza and gathering space on the National Register of Historic Places. Across the street, Brit’s Pub & Eating Establishment invites attendees to enjoy British fare and rooftop lawn bowling, while the nearby Dakota sets the mood with live jazz and an intimate event space. Farther north, Stock & Bond, within the historic Farmers and Mechanics Savings Bank building, presents a modern interpretation of a classic American steakhouse, with several intimate private dining spaces. Looking for a team-building experience? Escape the Room Minneapolis challenges groups to solve fast-paced puzzles in cooperation. Afterward, attendees can unwind at Devil’s Advocate , known for craft brews and Italian-inspired bar bites, or enjoy a pub atmosphere and a whiskey at The Local Minneapolis. The News Room , with its signature sailboatshaped bar, accommodates groups of up to 400. To keep the fun going after hours, visit The Nicollet Diner, whipping up delicious burgers and shakes 24/7.

The Fabled Rooster to the tasty smash burgers and desserts of Two Mixed Up. North Loop also boasts several craft breweries with event space, including the Fulton Beer taproom, Inbound BrewCo, and Modist Brewing Co. Once a collection of underused warehouses and vacant brick buildings, the North Loop neighborhood has evolved into one of the city’s trendiest hot spots. As home to talk-of-the-town restaurants, boutiques, nightlife, and two of the city’s major sports stadiums—Target Field and Target Center—North Loop has no shortage of exciting meeting and event opportunities within one compact, walkable footprint. North Loop is a haven for food lovers. Spoon and Stable , with its seasonal French cuisine, remains a cornerstone of the North Loop dining scene, helmed by James Beard Awardwinning chef and Minnesota native Gavin Kaysen. Across the street lies the acclaimed Porzana, a modern Argentine wood-fire steakhouse. Nearby, Bar La Grassa is a staple for Italian dishes, featuring an extensive wine list and a private dining space for up to 32 attendees. Sushi enthusiasts won’t want to miss Billy Sushi, where globally recognized Chef Billy Tserenbat creates some of the freshest rolls in town. The experience continues at Billy After Dark, a speakeasy-style bar beneath the restaurant. For those seeking a more casual experience, The Freehouse serves gastropub fare and house-brewed beers with its private Volstead Lounge for up to 75 attendees. Just down the block, basement bar Parlour Minneapolis is a must-visit, famous for its brisket-blend burger, The Parlour Burger, and expertly crafted cocktails. Seafood fans flock to Smack Shack on Washington Avenue, known for lobster rolls and a lively ambience, and meat lovers appreciate Butcher & The Boar, which pairs smoked meats with an expansive bourbon selection. The historic Monte Carlo, established in 1906, serves classic cocktails and American fare, while providing inviting outdoor seating. Its private dining rooms accommodate groups from 20 to 65 attendees. For a food hall full of options, bring your group to Graze Food Hall by Travail, with seven restaurant vendors, The Bar at Graze, a rooftop patio, and several event spaces available. 22 MINNEAPOLIS MEETING & EVENT PLANNER’S GUIDE

UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA EAST BANK/ DINKYTOWN
Experience the sophistication of university venues while immersing your group in global eats and college-town energy The University of Minnesota Twin Cities’ East Bank campus and the neighboring district of Dinkytown are full of Minnesota pride and hidden gems for planners. Students bring an unmatched energy to the area, and stadiums and university venues here are primed and ready for events. On the university campus, Northrop Auditorium presents world-class dance and music performances, speakers, films, and more. The McNamara Alumni Center is an architectural gem with 10 meeting rooms on the first floor, a partnership with award-winning D’Amico Hospitality, and an adjacent 500car parking ramp. For something truly unique, try renting the Weisman Art Museum with its unmistakable stainless-steel facade and colorful art collection. Over in Stadium Village, the excitement of Golden Gopher athletics fills the air. The impressive Huntington Bank Stadium seats over 50,000 football fans, while hockey lovers cheer inside 3M Arena at Mariucci and Ridder Arena, and basketball enthusiasts flock to Williams Arena (“The Barn”). Each venue offers facilities for private sports events and group meetings. Stop by Afro Deli & Grill for flavorful eats like the Somali Steak Sandwich, or iconic spots such as Sally’s Saloon and Stub and Herbs, with classic bar fare and spacious group seating.
Dinkytown’s food scene is diverse and delicious. Attendees might begin their mornings at Al’s Breakfast, a cozy, 24-seat diner beloved for hearty plates. Nearby, Blarney Pub & Grill offers a relaxed Irish American pub vibe, perfect for informal gatherings, while CrunCheese Korean Hot Dog turns traditional hot dogs into inventive gourmet snacks. Spots like Shuang Cheng; Lepot Chinese Hotpot; and Wally’s Falafel, Hummus, and Bakery provide casual, tasty takeout. Newer to the neighborhood, Pizza Karma spices things up on 14th Avenue Southeast with tandoor-fired pizzas featuring Indianinspired flavors—an exciting culinary twist. The eclectic Varsity Theater hosts everything from dazzling weddings and grandiose galas to daytime conferences and corporate parties. Just southeast of Dinkytown in the Prospect Park neighborhood, Surly Brewing Co. is a beer enthusiast’s haven, known for its iconic Surly Furious India pale ale. Surly’s versatile event spaces include the audiovisualequipped Scheid Hall, ideal for up to 175 attendees, and the outdoor Beer Garden for up to 120. Also in Prospect Park, The Market at Malcolm Yards is a bustling culinary hub featuring everything from Argentine cuisine to East Coast-style deli grub. Its adaptable event spaces accommodate intimate groups of 20 or lively parties of up to 1,000 attendees.

MINNEAPOLIS INSTITUTE OF ART
This South Minneapolis gem boasts numerous parks and lakes, a hot cafe scene, hip venues, and a youthful energy throughout Picturesque Uptown offers a change of pace, with an abundance of green spaces to explore, including Chain of Lakes Regional Park and its largest lake, Bde Maka Ska. An Uptown day well spent might look like a morning meeting at Moxy Minneapolis Uptown , tooling around the lakes on rental bikes from Perennial Cycle, a lively group lunch at Eat Street Crossing food hall, and an evening celebration at Uptown Theater, among a wealth of options. No matter how you decide to arrange your meeting agenda, the Uptown neighborhood provides a quintessential Minneapolis experience. If you need a bite at breakfast or lunchtime, Uptown’s cafe scene does not disappoint. Near the shores of Bde Maka Ska, Rustica Bakery & Cafe serves classic French bakery items and carefully crafted espresso drinks. On Hennepin Avenue lies Black Walnut Bakery, where mouth-watering treats like pain suisse and kouign-amann await. French Meadow Bakery & Cafe has been an Uptown staple since the early 1990s, prioritizing the use of organic ingredients in its dishes and hosting private events for up to 150. When evening arrives, head to Centro Nicollet for tacos and margaritas or check out
Wrecktangle Pizza for crispy, Detroit-style pies and creative cocktails. Nearby, Volstead’s Emporium Uptown is a hidden
speakeasy bar with two rentable private event venues. Uptown attractions are both eclectic and abundant. Relive your childhood playing classic arcade games at Up-Down Minneapolis ; enjoy live music at the hip Green Room ; or bowl, dine, and catch performances at Bryant Lake Bowl and Theater. When it comes to museums, the Minneapolis Institute of Art is one for the books, housing more than 100,000 works of art spanning some 5,000 years, with one-of-a-kind venue rentals and a dedicated events team. For assistance with event logistics, Legacy Production Group offers professional event equipment rentals, while Uptown Valet ensures smooth transportation.

Minneapolis offers affordable and widely accessible public transportation options, with continuous improvements to enhance convenience. The city’s seasonal Shared Bike and Scooter Program includes Lime and Spin as operators—simply download the corresponding app to get started. The METRO network includes eight bus rapid transit lines, with more in the works, all designed for fast, efficient bus service with train-like features. Metro Transit also provides service to key destinations such as Mall of America in Bloomington, Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, downtown Minneapolis, and downtown St. Paul via its METRO light-rail system, made up of the METRO Blue Line and METRO Green Line. For scheduled routes, real-time arrival updates are available via digital displays, text-in features, and the Metro Transit app. Rides are $2 for adults at all times, $1 reduced fares apply for eligible individuals, and downtown transit zones offer free rides from the Nicollet Mall light-rail station and 50-cent fares in designated areas. Tickets can be purchased at stations, online, on the Metro Transit app, or at Metro Transit service centers. metrotransit.org

FIND YOUR STAY Downtown Minneapolis Hotels
With over 30 hotels and 9,000 guest rooms, downtown Minneapolis affords planners plenty of options for any type of gathering. Best of all, many downtown hotels are connected by the climate-controlled Minneapolis Skyway System, 10-plus miles of over-the-road pedestrian bridges linking buildings. Also lined with restaurants and shops, the skyway provides the utmost convenience (especially in winter), offering easy access to some of the city’s largest meeting and event venues.
