Dear Members,
As we approach the end of summer and welcome the arrival of fall, we reflect on what has been a vibrant and memorable time at Greensboro Country Club. From the energy and laughter of our summer events to the pride and enthusiasm of our Blue Dolphins Swim Team, it’s been a summer to remember. The Blue Dolphins had an outstanding season, and we extend a heartfelt thank you to all the parents, coaches and volunteers who helped make it such a successful and fun experience for everyone involved.
Labor Day Weekend will be the perfect send-off to summer, and we invite you to join us on Monday, September 1 for a day filled with great food, fun activities and camaraderie. This traditional celebration brings our community together in the best way — enjoying the company of friends and family before the rhythm of fall routines sets in.
As summer winds down, the Farm pool will officially close after Labor Day weekend, marking the end of another wonderful summer. The Irving Park Family Pool will remain open through the end of September, providing continued opportunities for warm afternoon swims. The Adult Pool will extend its season even further, staying open through October, and the Donald Ross Terrace will remain available until November, weather permitting. These outdoor amenities offer a peaceful and relaxing environment, perfect for soaking in the early days of fall.
Fall at the Club is one of our favorite times of year. The landscape transforms into a canvas of vibrant colors, making it an ideal season to enjoy the outdoors — whether you are teeing off on one of our two golf courses or meeting friends for a friendly match on the racquet courts. The cooler temperatures and crisp air invite activity and togetherness, and we have planned an exciting lineup of events to match the season.
Our fall calendar includes some of our most popular and cherished traditions. The Labor Day celebration returns with delicious food and family fun, and Back-to-School Bingo will bring Members of all ages together for an evening of excitement and prizes. We are especially thrilled to present the Camel City Yacht Club Concert on the Driving Range — a new and unique event that promises to deliver an unforgettable evening of live music under the stars.
September also brings one of the most anticipated events of the year: the 1909 Men's Member Guest Invitational. This premier tournament is a highlight of our golf calendar, celebrat-
ing friendly competition, tradition and lasting friendships. We will continue the momentum with the Ladies Member Guest event, which promises elegance, fun and spirited play. Both events reflect the heart of our Club — bringing Members and their guests together for truly special experiences.
As we move through October, we eagerly look forward to our Annual Halloween Hayride at the Farm. This festive gathering is a long-standing tradition, loved by children and adults alike. With seasonal treats, games and the ever-popular hayride, it’s the kind of event that creates cherished memories for the whole family.
This summer also marked the completion of several muchneeded facility enhancements across the Club. We are pleased to share that the Farm Ladies’ and Men’s Locker Rooms received thoughtful updates, as did the carpeting in both the Farm and Irving Park Golf Shops. At Irving Park, we completed important improvements in the Men’s Locker Room and Men’s Grill — spaces that serve as social hubs for many of our Members. And, of course, the most significant project of the season was our Ballroom renovation. The refreshed space elevates our ability to host elegant events and creates a stunning centerpiece for future celebrations.
These enhancements are part of our ongoing commitment to improving the member experience and maintaining the exceptional standard that Greensboro Country Club is known for. With Membership continuing to grow, we are well-positioned for a sustainable and vibrant future. This growth not only secures our financial strength but also enables us to reinvest in our facilities, programs, and staff, ensuring a highquality experience for all.
As stewards of this historic and beloved institution, we deeply value your continued trust and support. It is a privilege to serve you, and our goal remains to ensure that every visit to the Club leaves you with a warm, memorable experience. To that end, we continue to seek your feedback through our expanded HappOmeter survey system. Originally implemented in our restaurants, this tool now includes Golf Operations, with plans to further broaden its reach across other departments. Your feedback is vital as it allows us to tailor our services and operations to better meet your needs and preferences.
Thank you for being part of the Greensboro Country Club family. We are truly excited for all that fall has in store and look forward to sharing the season with you and your guests.
Warm regards,
Friedrich Eder, CCM, CCE Chief Operating Officer/General Manager
There is no better time than now to rediscover everything Greensboro Country Club has to offer. September and October are packed with opportunities to play, connect, and unwind—whether you are working on your swing, enjoying a family dinner, or exploring a new fitness routine. As the season shifts, we invite you to introduce friends, family and colleagues to the lifestyle and community that make GCC so special.
As a Member, you are the heart of our community. Your personal referrals continue to be the most meaningful way we grow. If there is someone in your life who would enjoy the exceptional amenities, engaging programs and lasting friendships found here, we would be honored to welcome them for a visit this fall. As always, our goal is to help you make the most of your Membership. We look forward to making this season one to remember.
