Dear Members,
As warmer weather arrives, the Club comes alive with outdoor activities, family gatherings, and the energy of the summer season. Easter Sunday Brunch at both the Farm and Irving Park was a tremendous success, with record attendance and wonderful fellowship. Events like these are a great reminder of the strong sense of community that makes Greensboro Country Club such a special place.
Looking ahead, we are excited to welcome families to our upcoming Mother’s Day Brunch at both campuses. The Adult Pool opened on May 1, and the Family Pool will open Memorial Day Weekend on Saturday, May 23. To further enhance your poolside experience, our mobile ordering app will be returned this year, allowing you to conveniently order food and beverages delivered directly to your lounge chair.
As we approach Father’s Day on Sunday, June 21, we look forward to celebrating with all the fathers and families who make our Club community so special. Father’s Day is always a wonderful opportunity to spend time at the Club, and we look forward to making it a memorable day for everyone to celebrate.
I would also like to take a moment to share a few thoughts about Club Governance, as it is an important part of how a private club operates successfully. Our Board of Directors is made up of fellow members who volunteer their time to serve the Club. Their role is to focus on governance, which includes long-term strategic planning, financial oversight, policy development, and ensuring the long-term success and stability of the Club. The Board works closely with management, providing guidance and perspective, while entrusting the professional team to carry out the day-to-day operations that bring those strategic priorities to life.
Club operations, including dining, golf, aquatics, facilities and member services, are managed by the Club’s professional management team. This structure, often referred to as the “governance vs. operations” model, is considered a best practice in private clubs and helps ensure that the Club runs efficiently while maintaining strong strategic leadership from the Board. In this model, governance and management are complementary, working in partnership to align long-term vision with daily execution in a way that best serves the Membership.
If you have operational questions, concerns, or suggestions, the most effective way to have them addressed is to contact me or a member of our management team directly. We are here to help and to respond to your needs. This approach allows the management team to act quickly and effectively, while also keeping the Board appropriately informed on trends and member feedback. If, at any time, you feel that an issue has not been resolved to your satisfaction, you are always welcome to reach out to the Board. Board contact information is available on the Club website or on the back of this Newsletter. We simply ask that members allow our volunteer Board members the opportunity to enjoy the Club with their families, just like any other Member, and route operational matters through management first.
We continue to learn and improve through the valuable feedback we receive through our Member surveys, and we sincerely thank you for taking the time to share your input. Your feedback helps us improve services, programming and the overall Club experience.
Membership growth remains essential to the long-term strength and financial stability of the Club. With our Initiation Fee currently at $50,000, increasing by $5,000 for every 25 new memberships, we are on track toward our goal of 1,400 member families. As stewards of this Club, we encourage you to invite friends, neighbors, and colleagues to explore all that Greensboro Country Club has to offer. Your support helps preserve our traditions while ensuring a strong and sustainable future.
In closing, thank you for your continued engagement, trust and enthusiasm. Whether you are enjoying a quiet dinner, spending time with family at the pool, or connecting with fellow members at Club events, we are honored to serve you. We look forward to a wonderful summer season filled with camaraderie, celebrations and memorable moments at GCC.

With the exciting summer season on the horizon, we invite you to log in to the Club website or mobile app to review your Member profile. We encourage all Members to upload a current profile photo, as this allows our staff to provide more personalized service and helps ensure that charges are accurately applied to the correct Member when utilizing Club facilities, whether at the pool, fitness center, dining venues or the YAC.
As a friendly reminder, we kindly ask that you review all Guest Policies available on the Club website. You will find guidelines and fees that will make your visit seamless as you navigate the Club with your family and friends.
For guests planning an extended stay, we encourage you to reach out at least one week in advance to arrange a Weekly Guest Pass. This ensures your request is processed smoothly and in a timely manner. Should you require a Nanny Pass, please feel free to contact me and I will be happy to provide the appropriate form for completion. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or for assistance.
We sincerely appreciate your continued support of our Membership efforts. Personal referrals are the way our community grows. We encourage you to invite family, friends, coworkers and neighbors to experience our exceptional amenities, programs and friendships.

We also extend special recognition to Frank Schaede for earning the Individual Darts Championship. His precision, focus and steady performance throughout the season distinguished him as a deserving individual champion.

Summer is almost here and Blue Dolphins Swim Team registration is open! Our Blue Dolphins swim team is a competitive swim program open to Members 5 to 18 years-of-age, from beginner swimmers to very competitive swimmers. The Blue Dolphins make up one of over 20 swim teams in the Greensboro Community Swim Association (CSA) that compete from May through July. Our swimmers compete in six age groups, male and female, and race in five consecutive dual meets, culminating with the annual City Meet Swimming Championship July 9 through July 11 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center (GAC).
