COO/General Manager's Message

Dear Members,

As we bid farewell to a record-breaking winter marked by snow and ice, we look ahead with excitement to the warmth and renewed energy of spring at Greensboro Country Club.

We began the year with a one-of-akind ice storm that temporarily paralyzed not only the Club, but much of the City of Greensboro. Thanks to the swift, dedicated efforts of our grounds maintenance team, parking lots and walkways were cleared in time to safely host our Annual Stockholders Meeting and confirm our new Board of Directors. Just one week later, the city experienced a snowstorm unlike anything seen in nearly a decade. Despite challenging conditions, our team once again rose to the occasion, delivering an unforgettable wedding amid snow and ice, now fondly known throughout the area as the “Snow Globe Wedding,” with photos even featured on the North Carolina Weather website. With that remarkable start behind us, we eagerly welcome spring and the return of favorite traditions, including the Easter Egg Hunt, Easter Brunch, and our highly anticipated Spring Carnival.

We are pleased to share that Greensboro Country Club continues to grow and thrive, now welcoming more than 1,300 Member families, with a goal of reaching 1,400. To support this growth and ensure the long-term sustainability of the Club, the Initiation Fee for new members has been adjusted to $50,000 and will increase incrementally with every 25 new additions. Your continued support in expanding our Membership base is essential as we invest in our facilities, our team, and the preservation of the Club’s legacy.

Providing exceptional service and quality remains at the heart of everything we do. Your feedback through our survey system plays a vital role in guiding continuous improvement. Recent results reflect this commitment with a Net Promoter Score (NPS) exceeding 80 over the past month. For context, an NPS between 0–49 is considered good, 50–74 excellent, and scores above 75 represent world-class service. Your input directly drives improvements, accountability and targeted training, all with the goal of enhancing your overall membership experience.

Since 2017, Greensboro Country Club has proudly maintained Exceptional status through BoardRoom Magazine’s Distinguished Clubs program. We are now honored to share an exciting milestone: GCC has been elevated to ELITE Status. This prestigious recognition places our Club among

the top 3% of private clubs worldwide and reflects excellence across governance, facilities, service, amenities and overall operations. Elite Status is the result of years of thoughtful leadership, strategic investment, and a peoplefirst service philosophy, and most importantly, the loyalty, engagement and pride of our Members.

As part of our ongoing commitment to financial responsibility and long-term sustainability, the Board of Directors and Club Management have carefully reviewed how private and recurring events are structured at GCC. Our vibrant events business plays a critical role in the overall financial health of the Club and in maintaining the affordability of our dining program. While our restaurants operate as a Membership amenity, offering high-quality dining experiences at competitive prices partially subsidized through monthly dues, private and recurring events are structured to stand on their own financially. As operating, staffing and supplier costs continue to rise, it is increasingly important that each event generates sufficient revenue and margin to cover all associated labor, service and operational costs. Historically, some events required subsidy through general Membership dues, which is no longer a sustainable or equitable approach. While all existing bookings and agreements will be honored, new and additional events will be evaluated to ensure they are financially sustainable, which in some cases may require the implementation or adjustment of room rental fees to appropriately cover expenses.

This spring, the Club will also make a significant behindthe-scenes capital investment with the installation of a new chiller and air handler system. These critical infrastructure upgrades will greatly improve temperature control, air quality and system reliability throughout the Club. While not always visible, these enhancements are essential to Member comfort and to maintaining the high standards expected of an Elite Club. This proactive investment reflects our commitment to stewarding the Club responsibly for today’s Members and for generations to come.

As we move into the spring season, I want to thank you for your continued support, engagement and pride in Greensboro Country Club. Your trust allows us to invest thoughtfully, plan responsibly and deliver the exceptional experiences you expect and deserve. Together, with a shared commitment to excellence, we will continue to strengthen the Club, honor its traditions, and build an even brighter future.

Warm regards,

Membership Message

January and February launched 2026 with an unbelievable burst of energy and connection. Dart League set the tone, helping everyone ease back into a comfortable rhythm after the holidays.

Then came a winter surprise none of us expected. Multiple epic sledding days transformed the golf course into a scene straight out of the GCC history books. It was incredible to see so many Members embracing the moment, bundling up, heading outdoors and creating memories. Experiences like these capture the spirit of our Club and the joy of sharing it together.

Our annual February celebrations brought families and friends together for evenings filled with laughter and tradition. If you joined us for our first Jukebox Bingo, thank you for singing along and making it such a hit! Moments like these are just a few of the reasons GCC feels like a true home away from home.

The YAC remains a cornerstone for our families, offering engaging programming for children and dependable support when you need a few extra hours. With summer on the horizon, now is the perfect time to explore what the YAC has planned in the months ahead.

We sincerely appreciate your continued support of our Membership efforts. Personal referrals are the most meaningful way our community grows. Upcoming application deadlines are March 6 and April 3, with New Member Interviews on March 18 and April 15. We encourage you to invite family, friends, coworkers and neighbors to experience our exceptional amenities, programs and friendships. For more information, please contact me at l.frasier@greensborocc.org.

Please welcome the newest Members to GCC: Full Membership

2026 Season Outlook

Winter brought cold temperatures and icy conditions, yet activity at Greensboro Country Club stayed strong. On a few snowy days, the hill on Hole 1 became a popular sledding spot. Behind the scenes, our dedicated grounds team worked diligently to maintain the course, tackling weather challenges while ensuring safe, playable conditions for Members. As we move into spring, we’re excited for the season ahead.

Men’s and Ladies' golf events are officially getting underway as we move into the 2026 golf season. The spring schedule features a strong lineup of events across both courses, and we look forward to seeing Members take part throughout the year. These events are a great way to meet fellow Members and enjoy some friendly competition.

In addition to traditional tournaments, our Spring Operation 36 Academies are in full swing for Juniors, Ladies and Gentlemen. Operation 36 is an exciting and structured golf development program designed to help golfers improve through expert coaching and purposeful practice. The program blends coaching, training, and on-course play while teaching golfers the game from a hole-out perspective. Be on the lookout for the Summer Academy sign-up date coming soon…spots will fill up fast!

Get ready for one of the most anticipated events of the season…the Captain's Cup! This exciting weekly competition will run every Tuesday from May 5 through August 4, bringing competitive energy all summer long. The season officially kicks off with the live Captain's Cup Draft on Tuesday, April 21, in the Ballroom at Irving Park, where the captains will draft their team in real time. The reigning champions, the Stormin’ Normans, return as the only team bringing back their entire winning squad, determined to defend their title. Enjoy appetizers and drinks while watching the teams take shape and the competition begins.

With daylight saving time approaching on March 8, we are looking forward to extended evenings and returning to in-season hours, with the Golf Professional Shops open until 7:00 p.m. Warmer weather is on the way, and we’re excited for another great season ahead at Greensboro Country Club!
