Greensboro Country Club

July | August 2026

COO/General Manager's Message

Dear Members,

As summer reaches its peak, I hope you and your families are enjoying all that this wonderful season at GCC has to offer. From time spent by the pools and on the golf courses to family celebrations, dining experiences and Club events, there is no better time to enjoy the vibrant spirit of our community.

As we celebrate Independence Day, I would like to extend my best wishes for a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July holiday. This year carries special significance as our nation commemorates the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, marking an extraordinary milestone in our country's history. It is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the values of freedom, community and opportunity while spending time with family and friends at the Club.

Summer activity throughout GCC remains strong. Our pools continue to be among the most popular gathering places for Members of all ages, and the return of mobile poolside service has been met with tremendous enthusiasm. It is wonderful to see so many members enjoying the Club's recreational, dining and social amenities.

One of the highlights of every summer is the Blue Dolphins Swim Team. With more than 120 young swimmers participating this season, the excitement and team spirit have once again been on full display. We extend our sincere thanks to our Swim Team Committee, parent volunteers, coaches and Head Coach, Boone Redding, for their dedication and leadership. As the season concludes with the City Meet at the Greensboro Aquatic Center, we wish all our swimmers the very best. Go Blue Dolphins!

July is also one of our busiest months for facility improvements. At Irving Park, construction is underway on the longawaited renovation of the Men's Locker Room wet area. Updates are also planned for the Ladies' Locker Room adjacent to the Golf Shop, while the Ladies' Locker Room beneath the Fitness Center will receive a new Infrared Sauna with Red Light Therapy. In addition, the Halfway House and its restrooms will undergo much-needed improvements. Behind the scenes, we are also expanding the walk-in cooler and freezer capacity to support future growth and maintain the high level of service our Members expect.

An important initiative currently underway is the evaluation of the long-term future of the Irving Park golf course.

As announced by our president, the Board has established the Irving Park Golf Course Renovation Committee to assess the course's infrastructure needs, including irrigation, drainage, bunker systems and supporting facilities. The committee will evaluate concepts and cost estimates from several golf course architects while preserving the historic Donald Ross character that makes Irving Park so special. This will be a transparent and member-focused process, with ongoing communication, a town hall meeting, and opportunities for member feedback as recommendations are developed over the coming year.

As we enter the final quarter of our fiscal year, management and the Finance Committee are actively preparing the Fiscal Year 2027 budget. Like many private clubs, we continue to navigate rising costs associated with labor, insurance, property taxes, utilities and supplies. Our focus remains on responsible financial stewardship while continuing to invest in our facilities, programs and staff to ensure Greensboro Country Club remains the premier private club experience in our region.

Membership growth continues to play an important role in that success. We are pleased to see strong interest in Club Membership, with new families continuing to join GCC. As recently announced, the Initiation Fee now stands at $55,000, reflecting both the demand for Membership and the value of the GCC experience. We encourage you to continue sharing your Club with friends, neighbors, and colleagues who would be a great addition to our Membership.

Finally, thank you for your continued support, engagement and feedback. Whether through our surveys, conversations with our staff, or participation in Club activities, your involvement helps us continually improve. It is a privilege for our team to serve this membership, and we remain committed to making Greensboro Country Club your home away from home.

I wish you and your family a wonderful remainder of the summer season. We look forward to seeing you around the Club and creating many more memorable experiences together.

Warm regards,

Membership Message

Summer is in full swing with families enjoying a complete calendar of events throughout the Club. Memorial Day weekend kicked the season off in style, and since then, we have been delighted to offer you a wide variety of lively experiences at the pool, on the golf courses, tennis and pickleball courts, and in the YAC! We are excited to create even more opportunities for you to connect and relax together. Let's make 2026 a summer to remember!

This time of year, we like to take a moment to extend a sincere "thank you" to those who have navigated the process of sponsoring a new Member family. Your personal referrals play an invaluable role in our growth and success. The welcoming spirit you share preserves the culture, friendships and sense of belonging that make Greensboro Country Club so special. Simply put, our community would not be what it is today without your continued support! Many thanks to:
