GREENEVILLE, TENNESSEE 11 months of door-to-door services to provide coping advice for adults and children, information on normal reactions to disaster, linkage for clean up and counseling. There have been 391 families helped so far with 610 receiving longer crisis counseling sessions. Other team efforts include educational programs in schools affected and recovery support groups. During fiscal 2011, the psychosocial program in Johnson City was expanded to Greeneville and Kingsport to help ensure recovery education at more convenient locations. The psychosocial program in Greeneville served 77 individuals and the employment program served 31. The psychosocial program helps people fully integrate into society, improve quality of life and assist in recovery from effects of psychiatric symptoms and addiction. The program is for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness and co-occurring substance addiction. The rehabilitation program also provides community employment services including vocational planning, job readiness training, placement services, and job coaching. Employment services are provided through funding sources including the Tennessee Department of Vocational Rehabilitation and Ticket to Work. The Laughlin Center for Womenâ€™s Health, Greenevilleâ€™s only comprehensive womenâ€™s center, has earned accreditation as a Breast Cancer Center of Excellence. To earn this award, the womenâ€™s center participated in rigorous inspections by the American College of Radiology to earn accreditations in digital mammography, breast The Sharing Together to Achieve Resiliency and Success or STARS program for pre-k students is in its second year in Greene County. The program is in cooperation with the Third Judicial District Childrenâ€™s Advocacy Center and was expanded to Hawkins County.
