Dublin is well known for being accessible and inviting for non-motorized exploration. Columbus Underground named it the Top Suburb in Central Ohio four years in a row, in part thanks to its walkable, pedestrian-friendly communities. The Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) recognized Dublin as one of three Runner Friendly Communities in Ohio, celebrating its well-planned infrastructure and supportive local businesses. Plus, in 2022, the League of American Bicyclists honored Dublin with a silver-level Bicycle Friendly Community designation for its efforts to create safe, scenic biking opportunities for visitors. rich in history
You may sip a trendy new wine or swoon over beautiful handmade linens created by contemporary artisans. But when you visit Dublin, named by John Shields after his home in Dublin, Ireland, many current activities will take place in historically significant buildings, whose stone and timber tell tales of founding families and small businesses of yore. Here is just a small handful of those sites.
By Jill Sell
The new Dublin History Museum, opened in 2024, is located in a structure with a significant past. The original dwelling at 35 S. High St. was built circa 1880. It has been the home to at least four families, a barbershop, medical office, art gallery and yarn studio. Known as the George Eger Residence, it is named for the George and Zora Eger family. Today, visitors can discover the stories of the people who shaped the Dublin community. Museum admission is free, with donations encouraged, and self-guided tours are available Friday through Sunday.
The two buildings at 30 and 32 S. High St. were empty and forlorn for years. But in September 2025, The Apothecary Bourbon and Cigar Lounge and Uncorked Wine Tastings opened after extensive renovation by the same owners. Inside The Apothecary, which dates to the 1830s, parts of the original log cabin are visible. Visitors select top-shelf spirits and premium cigars, but the latter must be enjoyed on the patio or gazebo to preserve the structure. Uncorked, a renovated 1830s cottage with a beautiful outdoor space, offers 48 different wines and paired charcuterie in a sophisticated setting.

It’s a sweet treat at Our CupCakery. Dublin Irish Cream is among the most popular cake flavors — with Irish Cream buttercream to pair — at this boutique bakery offering cupcakes, cakes, cookies and more that reopened at 54 S. High St. in 2019. Since being built circa 1850, the now bright and cheerful shop has been a residence, cobbler’s shop, pottery studio and gift shop.
Built in the 1960s, these connected buildings at 24 and 28 N. High St. are not exactly vintage. But they are old enough to claim some Dublin business history, including once being a florist shop. Today, Paris 75 and The French Store offer Frenchinspired food, fashion and home décor.
The combined shops are next to the Dublin Toy Emporium, which offers popular, premium brand toys, including HABA, French dolls from Corolle and Green Toys. Check out the adorable fairy garden with a garden mural in the courtyard between the addresses.
Out of respect for its history and architecture, attorneys with Gerber & Mitchell LLC tastefully renovated 109 S. High St. when they purchased the stone building in 2015. The 1842 structure was once home to the Black Horse Tavern and built by Dublin’s founder, John Sells, and his son, Eliud. It was also an office and bank in later years. Today the firm focuses on health and business law while vowing to preserve the building’s heritage.
Explore the Past
Here’s the best tip about the self-guided Historic Dublin Walking Tour: make sure you devote an adequate amount of time to this experience. Not because the terrain is difficult or the sites are far apart. But because each is fascinating and it’s hard to move on to the next.
You’ll see historic homes, barns and businesses on South High, South Riverview, North Riverview, North High and Bridge streets. Visit Dublin Spring Park, where a natural spring quenched the thirst of early settlers, the stone Bridge Street Bridge, Indian Run Falls, cemeteries and other destinations. Maps are available at the Dublin Visitors and Information Center, 9 S. High St., or online at visitdublinohio.com.

5 WAYS To CELEBRATE
THE
50 Anniv ERSARY of THE 50
MEMoRiAL TouRnAME
pRESEnTEd BY WoRkdAY
In 1976, Jack Nicklaus founded the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday, held annually at Muirfield Village Golf Club. This year’s Memorial Tournament will celebrate the first half-century of the PGA TOUR Signature Event. Whether you’ll be at the course to witness the festivities and marquee competition, June 1–7, or following the action from outside the renowned grounds, there are plenty of ways to join in on the fun and excitement.
On the Green
We sat down with Dan Sullivan, Executive Director of the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday, and asked a couple questions about the Tournament.

Q Has Jack Nicklaus been at every Tournament?
A Yes. He’s either competed in or hosted all 50 of the Memorial Tournaments since its inception in 1976.
Q Any tips for attendees?
A Walk the entire golf course. Even if you don’t have a full appreciation for the game, you will appreciate how incredible these players are because the golf course is very challenging. It’s enjoyable to see people who are really good at their craft competing at a really high level. 1 2 3 4 5
FORE!Fest (June 5 & 6)
Bridge Park will once again be the official off-site destination of the Tournament. That’s two spirited evenings of live music, outdoor games, retail vendors, Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) drink stations, food trucks, official Tournament merch and more. The Memorial Tournament’s dynamic Drone Show at Fore!Fest returns on Friday night for a third year.
FORE! Miler (May 28 at 7 p.m.)
This 4-mile run/walk starts at Muirfield Village Golf Club and tours through parts of Dublin before finishing on the 18th green of the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday. In addition to an official race-themed shirt and finisher’s medal, runners will receive a complimentary, Good Any One Day Practice Round ticket for the Tournament. There’s also a post-race party at Muirfield Village Golf Club, including one complimentary beverage per runner. The event is presented by The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center and The James.
Over-sized Golf Balls in Dublin
For the month leading up to the Memorial Tournament, four golf balls will be placed in Riverside Crossing Park and Bridge Park for visitors to learn about the Tournament’s charitable mission. Each golf ball is six feet in diameter, so you can’t miss them. Snap a photo with each larger-than-life display to commemorate your experience.
Watch Tournament Coverage at a Local Joint
If you’re not attending the Tournament in person, you can cheer on the PGA TOUR professionals while enjoying a meal or drink. A couple of good spots are Urban Meyer’s Pint House and Yogi’s, two popular local hangouts.
Play Disc & Foot Golf at Riverside Crossing Park
Get in on the action by playing disc golf or foot golf, a soccer-golf hybrid. The Memorial Tournament is once again hosting a special nine-hole disc and foot golf course at Riverside Crossing Park. The course is open for a limited time and is free to the public through June 7.

SAFety FirSt

Dublin takes pride in being a walkable, accessible city with a safety-first mindset… and stays on the cutting edge of technology to keep improving! Named one of Ohio’s Safest Small Cities by World Atlas in 2025, Dublin is committed to public safety for its residents and visitors. By Kitty Stevens
In the era of AI, the Dublin Police Department has embraced new AIpowered autonomous safety robots to keep visitors safe. DubBot helps patrol the Rock Cress Parking Garage to watch over your vehicles while you explore, and Bridge Walker can be found making rounds of Riverside Crossing Park and the Dublin Link pedestrian bridge. The Dublin PD’s bike patrol team also keeps hard-toreach areas safe.
Want to help improve Dublin? Community input is welcomed
through the city’s “Tell Dublin” link — available to crowdsource input for city improvements or feedback and to report issues.
We want everyone to be able to enjoy Dublin, so accessibility is also a key focus. Older residents or visitors with mobility issues can get around town using the Dublin Connector — a fare-free transportation service. Bridge Park’s wide, wheelchair-friendly sidewalks make exploring the shops and restaurants safe and comfortable for everyone.
Travel Sustainably
Want to match Dublin’s vibe? Look for ways to increase sustainability during your visit. It can be as simple as bringing your reusable water bottle and choosing local shops and restaurants over chains! Try exploring with Dublin’s electric scooters or bikes instead of driving, and always be sure to leave no trace while exploring the great outdoors.
