A welcome addition, Conscious Brewing

There’s something brewing in Miami Shores— literally. Meet Eddie and Jessica, the duo behind Conscious Brewing, a brand-new family owned nano brewery and taproom nestled right in the heart of our Village.

Conscious Brewing isn’t your typical brewery. With a focus on creating one-of-a-kind, directto-consumer experiences, Eddie and Jessica have built the perfect spot for locals to sip and stay awhile. They offer their own small-batch creations alongside an impressive lineup of beers from fellow South Florida craft brewers. By keeping things small and hyper-local, they’re able to stay nimble, cater to customer preferences, and embrace the latest trends in the craft beer world. Jessica mentions, “Our goal is to provide a casual craft beer experience to members of our community. As the craft beer industry continues to grow in Miami, we feel that there are still underserved communities in need of a local brewery and tap room for residents to go and enjoy each other’s company over hand crafted beers.” Jessica also points out that a small-scale direct to consumer production set up, allows them flexibility to quickly adapt to their consumer preferences and also stay at the cutting-edge industry trends.

The couple met while working together during their college years. The brewery’s name is a nod to their shared love of conscious hip-hop. That spark grew into both a lifelong partnership (18 years of marriage and counting) and a shared dream that’s now become a reality. Lifelong Miamians and proud parents to 13-year-old Caleb and 8-year-old Celine, Eddie and Jessica are deeply rooted in South Florida and knew this is where they would build their legacy. Jessica shares, “. It was important for us to set up our location in a tight knit, family centric community, and Miami Shores was the perfect fit.”

Eddie, a Certified Financial Planner with over 15 years of experience in finance, and Jessica, a retail pro who’s worked with Fortune 5 companies as a Category Manager, are no strangers to hard work. Both MBA grads from the University of Florida, their combined expertise has laid a strong foundation for running their brewery.

Their passion for craft beer was ignited in the late 2000s during trips to breweries across South Florida, the U.S., and beyond. But it wasn’t until the COVID-19 pandemic that they decided to turn their dream into a business.

Unlike breweries that focus on mass distribution,

Conscious

Brewing takes a more personal approach. Think of them like your neighborhood bakery—each beer is crafted with care, and you’ve got to visit in person to fully experience what they’re all about. Eddie and Jessica comment, “We want our beer to bring people together and in the short time we’ve been open, the love and excitement from the community has been incredible - we are thankful to the community for creating a buzz and sharing the news that we are open. In this short amount of time, we have connected with our neighbors and are grateful for the familiar faces we see week after week.”

For most, the brewery and taproom may seem like a surprise that popped up overnight, but the reality is that it’s been over three years in the making. Jessica shares, “During that time, we dedicated countless hours perfecting our recipes and sharing our trial beers on the brewing festival circuit. This allowed us to gather feedback, refine our craft, and ensure that when we finally opened our doors, we were offering the community a product we’re truly proud of.”

So whether you’re a craft beer aficionado or just looking for a friendly spot to unwind, stop by Conscious Brewing, grab a pint, and join the buzz that’s already sweeping Miami Shores. Eddie and Jessica offer, “We take pride in being a part of the Florida Craft Beer community and can’t wait to pour you a pint and create memories with everyone.”

Cheers to community, craft, and connectionConscious Brewing is officially on tap in Miami Shores!

A NEW CHAPTER AWAITS

Boost Productivity in Your Small Business with These Simple Strategies

In today’s fast-paced business environment, efficiency isn’t just a luxury, it’s a necessity. Small businesses are especially vulnerable to time and resource constraints, which means that finding ways to maximize productivity is crucial for long-term success. Here are a few simple, yet powerful strategies that can help your team work smarter, not harder.

1. Streamline Communication

Clear communication is the foundation of any successful team. Tools like Trello and Asana can help streamline project management, aligning team efforts and tracking progress in real time. These platforms not only facilitate collaboration but also ensure everyone is on the same page.

2. Automate Repetitive Tasks

Repetitive administrative tasks can take a significant chunk out of your team’s time. Automation tools like Zapier can help offload routine activities such as lead management, email marketing, and social media scheduling. By automating these processes, your team can focus on higher-value tasks that drive growth and innovation.

3. Embrace Cloud-Based Collaboration

Hybrid work environments have become the norm, making seamless collaboration more important than ever. Platforms like Google Workspace and Slack provide real-time communication and file sharing, making it easy for your team to connect and collaborate from anywhere and remain productive and in sync.

4. Master Time Management

Effective time management is a game changer when it comes to maximizing productivity. Techniques like the Eisenhower Matrix and time-blocking can help prioritize tasks, making sure that urgent and important activities are tackled first. By dedicating specific blocks of time to focused work, you can ensure that your team remains productive without feeling overwhelmed.

5. Minimize Distractions and Maximize Energy

Encourage your team to create “focus zones” and schedule regular breaks. Research has shown that short, intentional breaks can actually enhance creativity, prevent burnout, and boost overall productivity.

6. Leverage Affordable Tools

The good news is that many productivity tools are affordable or even free. Platforms like Trello, Slack, and others offer free or low-cost plans that are perfect for small teams. These tools allow you to experiment and scale as your business grows—providing big returns without a hefty investment.

Conclusion: Work Smarter, Not Harder
