It’s a pleasure to welcome you to Statfold Country Park for what promises to be a very special evening.
Tonight marks the 10th edition of this event – now known as the SLTC Awards –which launched in 2017 and quickly established itself as an integral part of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce calendar.
The initiative began as a celebration of business success across Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield and Tamworth, before expanding to include Cannock Chase.
These four areas each have their own unique stories – blending heritage, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit.

RAJ KANDOLA Acting Deputy CEO, Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce
Together, they form a business landscape that is diverse, determined and forward-looking.
This evening is about celebrating that collective strength through eight business award categories, as well recognising individual excellence with the SLTC Young Professional of the Year accolade.
I want to wish the very best of luck to all the businesses and individuals shortlisted across our nine categories.
To be shortlisted is an achievement in itself, and a testament to the hard work, creativity and commitment shown day in, day out.
I would also like to thank our presidents Gary Phelps (Royal Sutton Coldfield Chamber), Martin Hall (Lichfield and Tamworth Chamber) and David Mitchell (Cannock Chase Chamber) for their unwavering commitment to representing businesses and the local community across their respective areas.
Finally, events like this simply wouldn’t be possible without the backing of partners who share our belief in local enterprise.
Thank you to our headline sponsors, Amazon and South Staffordshire College, for their continued support.
I WISH YOU ALL A WONDERFUL EVENING.

Tonight’s SLTC Awards are marking their tenth anniversary with a colourful circusstyle theme, to shine a spotlight on the great work being done by local firms.
If you think about it, it’s an apt theme; business can be a bit of a circus. It can be a high wire act when you choose to take calculated risks, and anyone who’s started a new business has to learn how to juggle priorities. To be honest, during my many years in business, I’ve met a few clowns too!
Ultimately, we all have an audience –customers, clients or partners – who we want to wow with a memorable performance.
Tonight’s awards will feature local companies who have managed that feat, while also impressing our judges.
We have had a record-breaking number of entries, with all kinds of businesses represented. Congratulations to everyone who submitted applications and those shortlisted.
The Royal Sutton Coldfield Chamber of Commerce is at its best when it is bringing people together, connecting businesses to share best practice, highlighting important issues and gauging the temperature of the local economy.
As President, I’m determined to drive events that help that connectivity thrive, not just in Sutton but across our neighbouring Chambers too.

President, Royal Sutton Coldfield Chamber of Commerce
Managing Director, Gary Phelps Communications Ltd
Behind the glitz and the glamour, tonight provides an important platform that links businesses across some of the region’s most vibrant places. And as someone who has edited newspapers in Sutton, Lichfield, Tamworth and Cannock, I know just how remarkable they are as communities.
My thanks to everyone who has helped put together this evening’s festivities, and the best of luck to everyone who is up for an award – it’s your chance to shine. On with the show!
It is an absolute honour to welcome you all to the 10th SLTC Awards.
Tonight, we come together for a truly special evening of celebration of the fantastic businesses in our area.
A huge thank you to Statfold Country Park for hosting us for the first time and I know we will be looked after and treated to a memorable event. My thanks also to our generous sponsors tonight and to our Chamber Team, without them so much of this evening wouldn’t be possible.
Congratulations to those businesses nominated for awards and I wish everyone the best of luck.
We want as many people as possible to know about the benefits and impact that Chamber membership brings. Please share your experience tonight – post on social media, tag us and together, we will champion the value of Chamber membership, encourage member to member engagement, spotlight local success, and ensure SLTC is the goto place for business support and networking.
We’ve got an incredible evening lined up so sit back and enjoy.

MARTIN HALL President, Lichfield & Tamworth Chamber of Commerce
Managing Director, M Hall Limited
Tonight we celebrate the resilience, determination and progress of businesses across Cannock Chase and the wider region. The landscape keeps shifting, but our commitment to supporting local enterprise remains constant.
Over the past year our programme has become busier, more connected and more collaborative. From our joint Chamber Business at Breakfast focused on health and wellbeing, to our Cannock Chase Chamber Connections networking evening, we’ve created more chances for introductions, learning and peer support. We’ve also worked to raise the Chamber’s profile and champion the innovation happening locally.
Looking ahead, I’m particularly pleased to be supporting work that has created a dedicated collaboration space for businesses – building on discussions around a Community Business Hub at the Innovation Centre, Cannock College. A shared base like this can help start-ups and established firms access advice, meet partners and turn ideas into action.
We remain focused on what keeps our economy moving: retaining talent and strengthening skills. Supporting workforce retention, promoting local opportunities and backing initiatives such as the Jobs Fair all help employers recruit and keep great people close to home.

DAVID MITCHELL President, Cannock Chase Chamber of Commerce
Managing Director, The Marketing People
This evening, we recognise organisations and individuals who have gone the extra mile. Congratulations to everyone who entered and to those shortlisted – your commitment strengthens our community. To the winners: enjoy the moment, share the success with your teams, and thank the supporters who helped you get here. Thank you to the chamber team, the Chase committee and everyone working behind the scenes. I look forward to building on this momentum as we head towards the AGM in February.

One of Britain’s most famous badminton players, Gail Emms is an Olympic star who won a whole host of medals at the highest level of the sport. While the pinnacle of Gail’s career came at the Athens Olympics in 2004 where she achieved a silver medal, she also won one World Championship title, two Commonwealth Games titles and two European Championships titles. These days, Gail has established a reputation for being one of the best Olympic speakers in the industry, using her platform to discuss her successful career while also sharing life lessons that audiences can take forward into their own lives.
Gail’s youth was dominated by sport, and she picked up badminton at an early age. Realising she had a talent for the sport, she soon paired with Nathan Robertson in the mixed doubles event, with the duo going on to establish a long-lasting and fruitful partnership. This began at the 1994 World Junior Championships in Kuala Lumpur where they reached the semifinals together.
Undoubtedly the greatest moment of Gail’s career came in 2004. Alongside Robertson, Gail reached the Olympic final of the mixed doubles. Unfortunately, the pair fell short to Chinese pair Zhang Jun and Gao Ling, but achieving a silver medal was still a huge success.
Gail retired from professional badminton after the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
Since hanging up her racket, Gail has appeared on a variety of TV shows, is a regular on BBC 5 Live’s ‘Fighting Talk’ and regularly hosts events as well as delivering speeches based on her experiences of competing at the highest level in sport.

The artwork, table ornaments and masks that are on display and decorating the tables have been designed and created by students from Sutton Coldfield College who are studying on the UAL Level 3 Diploma in Creative Arts Practice.
Having been given the theme of ‘The Greatest Showman’ as a starting point, the students responded by researching into traditional and contemporary aspects of themes based on the circus and showmanship, which included looking at a range of artists, graphical images, and films for sources of inspiration. Out of this, many colourful and bold paintings, prints and 3D objects have been produced, as can be seen.
The students have greatly enjoyed doing the work, as well as having the opportunity to create art the encompasses a broad range of media and materials. The project has also given them the opportunity to work to a real-world brief, and the constraints that this may contain.

Performing Arts has been at the heart of Fairfax, Sutton Coldfield, since 1960, when founding Headmaster Mr Gordon Philpott introduced The Eisteddfod. Since then, Fairfax has become renowned for its annual creative and performing arts festival, celebrating excellence in dance, drama and music. This year’s festival, themed “Carnival” and held in December 2025, was a vibrant and unforgettable showcase of talent, imagination and collaboration, and it certainly did not disappoint.
This evening, we are delighted to share some highlights from our “Carnival” celebrations to complement your “The Greatest Showman” theme.
Our instrumental performers will entertain you with the high-energy carnival rock piece Carnival of Fire, while our dancers will captivate you with their powerful interpretation, inspired by The Greatest Showman, and our vocal group enthral with their melodies and harmonies.
We hope these performances amaze and inspire you as much as they have inspired us.

Health and social care touches every one of us, yet the system is under unprecedented pressure. Grace Cares is a Lichfield-based not-for-profit dedicated to making care more sustainable for people, communities and the planet.
We rescue, rejuvenate and re-home pre-loved care equipment, supplying the public, NHS and care providers at less than half the original cost. This reduces waste, lowers costs and keeps essential equipment accessible.
All profits are reinvested locally to deliver hardship grants, companionship tea parties tackling loneliness, intergenerational projects, and Care Club support sessions for unpaid caregivers, offering practical guidance, peer support and vital breathing space.
Since launch, Grace Cares has supported thousands of people and diverted thousands of items from landfill, proving that sustainability and social care can work hand in hand across Lichfield and Tamworth.

Motor Neurone Disease (MND) has once again made headlines following the very recent diagnosis of former England Rugby Union World Cup–winning player and captain, Lewis Moody.
The Mel Evans MBE Foundation works tirelessly to raise awareness of MND and to fund vital research into the disease.
Mel Evans MBE was a Cannock boy born and bred, who lived and worked in Cannock throughout his life. In 2016, completely out of the blue, Mel was diagnosed with MND – a devastating degenerative neurological condition for which there is currently no effective treatment and no cure.
The charity that bears Mel’s name was founded by his partner, Lynn, and is run entirely by volunteers. With no major overheads, every penny raised goes directly towards research into MND. Since being granted charitable status in 2019, the Foundation has raised over £150,000 and is currently supporting two major research projects led by one of the country’s leading neuroscientists, Professor Dame Pamela Shaw.
More information about our work can be found at www.melevansfoundation.org.uk

Cancer Support Centre Sutton Coldfield is an independent local charity supporting people affected by cancer across Sutton Coldfield and the wider Birmingham area. Each year, the Centre supports over 500 individuals living with cancer, as well as their families and carers, offering free, compassionate support at one of the most challenging times in their lives.
The Centre provides a holistic range of services, including emotional and psychological support, counselling, complementary therapies, practical advice, and group activities that reduce isolation and build confidence. Its welcoming, community-based approach ensures people feel listened to, understood, and supported beyond clinical treatment.
With no Government funding, the Cancer Support Centre relies entirely on the generosity of individuals, businesses, and local partners. Over the past year, it has continued to grow its impact, strengthen partnerships across the region, and adapt services to meet increasing demand, remaining a vital lifeline for people affected by cancer in our community.
