PRESIDENT WELCOME

MARTIN HALL PRESIDENT, LICHFIELD & TAMWORTH CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2027 Annual General Meeting of the Lichfield & Tamworth Chamber of Commerce. Over the past year, I have had the privilege of meeting businesses of every size and sector across Lichfield, Tamworth and the wider region. What continues to inspire me is the ambition, resilience and willingness of our members to support one another and drive our local economy forward. The networking between members has been fantastic to see ! Together, we have achieved a great deal. Event attendance has continued to grow, membership has strengthened, and our collaboration with neighbouring Chambers through the emerging Staffordshire Gateway initiative has created new opportunities for connection, influence and growth. We have strengthened our engagement with local MPs and elected representatives, secured a stronger business voice within local government discussions, and established regular co-working sessions at both the Lichfield and Tamworth campuses of South Staffordshire College, helping to build closer links between education and enterprise. I am particularly proud that our Chamber has played an active role in shaping the Staffordshire Gateway Growth Panel Report, helping to ensure that local business perspectives are at the heart of conversations about our area’s future. As we look ahead to a period of significant change, including the transition to new unitary arrangements across Staffordshire, I remain convinced that business must be part of the conversation. The best outcomes are achieved when business leaders, educators, civic partners and elected representatives work together with a shared purpose. Thank you for your continued support, engagement and commitment to our Chamber. It is an honour to serve as your President, and I look forward to continuing our work together to ensure Lichfield, Tamworth and the wider Staffordshire Gateway area remain outstanding places to live, work, invest and grow.
