Regionally grown flowers were once again used to create a unique installation in the Flower Shop and More’s windows. The Flower Shop and More celebrated Canadian Flowers Week with a window display honouring flower farmers. Pairs of overalls hanging in the window were filled with a variety of flowers from the Garden in Harrington and bouquets from Wandering Bee in Thorndale. “It is always unique in trying to find a different way to showcase Canadian flowers each year,” said Chris O’Connor, co-owner of The Flower Shop and More. On Aug. 24, The Flower Shop and More announced on Facebook that their 2026 flower farmer display is one of the finalist designs in the Canadian Flowers Week competition. Canadian Flowers Week ran from Aug. 17-23. Each year in the middle of August, the celebratory week aims to highlight the importance of buying Canadian grown flowers. The Canadian Flowers Week website indicates that many of the flowers sold in Canada are imported from the United States and South America. “A long time ago, Canada and the United States did a lot of stuff to open trade agreements, which were good, but it had an impact on Canadian growers. So, there’s been historically less
