TEE 2 GREEN
OCTOBER 2026
A Season Unlike Any Other Phil Scully, General Manager
As we bring the 2026 golf season to a close, I find myself reflecting on what has been a truly historic year for Granite Golf Club. Every golf season has its memorable moments, but few will leave a lasting impression quite like this one. After years of planning, consultation, and preparation, Project Next 25 has moved from an ambitious vision to a remarkable transformation taking place across our golf course. It is not often that a club has the opportunity to undertake a project of this magnitude. While the construction activity is certainly impressive, what makes this undertaking particularly meaningful is the commitment it represents. Our membership has made a deliberate and significant investment in the future of Granite Golf Club, ensuring that the quality of our golf course and the experience it provides will be enjoyed for many years to come. 2
Projects of this significance do not happen overnight, nor are they the result of any one individual's efforts. I would be remiss not to acknowledge the contributions of past and present Boards, committee members, and the many members who helped shape the vision, encouraged thoughtful discussion, and supported the decisions that ultimately brought us to this point. Their collective commitment has laid the foundation for everything we are accomplishing today. As General Manager, I have had the privilege of witnessing the extraordinary amount of work that has gone into bringing this project to life. From the early planning and countless meetings to the coordination of construction and the adjustments required to our daily operations, this has been a tremendous team effort.
3
I want to extend particular appreciation to Yanik Mayer, Brad Miller, and our entire golf course maintenance team. Their dedication, expertise, and tireless efforts, both in preparing for the renovation and supporting the construction process, have been nothing short of exceptional. Their contributions have been instrumental in getting this project underway while continuing to care for the golf course throughout an unusually demanding season. I would also like to recognize Steve Halse and Jasmine Angelini, along with their respective teams, for their flexibility, creativity and professionalism in adapting to the many operational challenges this year has brought. Delivering the level of service our members expect under such unusual circumstances is no small accomplishment, and I am immensely grateful for their efforts. Most importantly, I want to thank our members. Closing portions of the golf course, adjusting familiar routines, and navigating an active construction project have required patience and understanding. Your continued support has been appreciated more than you may realize. As we look ahead to 2027, there is plenty to be excited about. The transformation underway represents an important new chapter in the Club's history, but it is worth remembering that the qualities that make Granite Golf Club special extend well beyond the golf course itself. 4
It is the friendships, the camaraderie, the familiar faces and the shared enjoyment of this wonderful game that define our Club. Project Next 25 is not about changing that identity. It is about protecting and enhancing the experience that brings us together. One day soon, the construction equipment will be gone, the finishing touches will be complete, and we'll return to the simple pleasure of standing on the first tee, looking down the fairway and enjoying a round of golf with friends. And when that day comes, I believe we will look back on 2026 with considerable pride, knowing that we were part of something truly meaningful in the history of Granite Golf Club. Thank you for your continued trust, encouragement and support. I wish you and your families a wonderful off-season, and I look forward to welcoming everyone back for an exciting new chapter in 2027. 5
Wrapping Up an Unforgettable Season Steve Halse, Head Golf Professional
As the autumn air sets in and the season comes to an end, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to every member who stepped onto the course and joined our events this year. Your enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and camaraderie truly make our community special. Whether you competed in our trophy events, joined the weekly leagues, or attended one of our amazing 9 and dines, thank you for making 2026 one for the books. Interclub Champions Bring Home the Hardware! A massive congratulations to our interclub teams, who represented us with incredible skill and determination this season. Men’s Trillium Cup Team: In a thrilling battle against our friends and rivals at Magna GC and Coppinwood GC, our men’s squad brought home the 2026 Trillium Cup! The competition was fierce, but our team stayed focused and came out on top in the tri-club championship. Ladies’ BCGS Team: Once again, our team showed true dominance on the course; our Ladies’ BCGS team repeated as champions! Facing tough teams from Beacon Hall, St. Andrews East, and Coppinwood, the ladies delivered a steady performance to defend their title and keep the trophy here at GGC! Thanks to our Senior Ryder Cup team and Solheim Cup team. Both teams represented GGC in stellar fashion. Please join us in celebrating these amazing victories when you see our interclub team members around the club! 6
End-of-Season Facilities Reminder While the golf course is now officially closed for the season, you can still keep your swing in shape! A reminder to all members that the driving range and short game practice area will remain open until the end of October, weather permitting.
If you want to keep the rust off your swings over the winter months, we have an option for you. Granite Golf Club members are permitted to join the golf section at The Granite Club. For information, please contact Cory Jones cjones@granitegolfclub.ca.
One last reminder. As we approach the holiday season, we can help with sourcing gifts for the golfer on your list. From golf balls to golf gadgets, we'll help you pick something they'll love. Thank you once again for a memorable year on the fairways.

As we bring another remarkable season at Granite Golf Club to a close, it is worth taking a moment to reflect on just how far we have come, and to recognize the extraordinary effort that has brought us to this point. This was, without question, a phenomenal season. Behind every exceptional playing condition, every beautifully presented hole, and every memorable day at Granite Golf Club is an enormous amount of work, commitment, and collaboration. What our membership experiences on the course is the result of countless hours of planning, preparation, execution, and care from an incredible group of people.
This season was also about much more than maintaining the golf course. It represented the culmination of years of vision and preparation, and it became the springboard into what is arguably the most ambitious project in Granite Golf Club's history. PN25 represents an exciting new chapter. It is a project of significant scale and ambition, but it is also the product of a shared vision. One that has been shaped, refined, and brought to life through the collective expertise and commitment of many individuals. We want to recognize and sincerely thank the entire Granite Golf Club team for their extraordinary dedication throughout the season. Their daily effort, attention to detail, pride in the property, and willingness to embrace the challenges that come with a project of this impact have been fundamental to our success. We are equally grateful for the expertise and partnership of DSC Agronomic Services, KCM, Thomas McBroom, and Green Horizons. Each has brought a unique perspective, specialized knowledge, and an unwavering commitment to achieving the very best outcome. The strength of this collaboration has been one of the defining characteristics of the project.

Great golf courses are not created by any one person or organization. They are built through shared vision, trust, expertise, and an extraordinary amount of hard work. PN25 is a perfect example of what can be accomplished when talented people come together with a common purpose. As members, you have also played an important role in this journey. Your belief in the Club’s future has been deeply appreciated, particularly as we have navigated the many moving pieces that accompany a project of this scale. And while it is important to celebrate what has been accomplished, we are even more excited about what lies ahead. PN25 is not simply about improving the golf course. It is about investing in the future of Granite Golf Club and creating something that will serve and inspire our membership for many years to come. The work underway today is part of a much larger vision, one that respects the character and history of Granite while thoughtfully preparing it for its next generation. As we close out a remarkable season and look ahead to the next phase of PN25, we do so with an enormous sense of pride and optimism. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this journey. There is a tremendous amount to be proud of and even more to look forward to.

Finishing the Season with Thanks Greig King, Executive Chef
As we reach the final Tee 2 Green of the season, I want to say a big thank-you to our members for another year of support, encouragement and good company at Granite Golf Club. Whether you joined us for a quick lunch, dinner with friends, one of our golf events or simply a bite after your round, you gave the Heart of House team the opportunity to do what we enjoy most: cook good food and look after people. This season’s menu brought together familiar club favourites, lighter options, dishes to share, and something a little different through our fortnightly features. We wanted you to be able to find your regular favourite while also having a reason to try something new. Your feedback helps us shape that balance, and it has been great to see members enjoying the team’s ideas and coming back for more. The course work brought an earlier finish to the golfing season than we would normally see. While that changed the rhythm of our final weeks, there is plenty to look forward to as the investment in the course takes shape. Thank you for continuing to support us through those changes.

To our seasonal staff heading off to school, new opportunities or a well-earned break: thank you. Your hard work, humour and willingness to roll up your sleeves have made a real difference. From busy services to the final clean-up, it takes everyone pulling together to get the job done. You have been an important part of our team, and we wish you all the best for the months ahead. There are still opportunities to enjoy the club before the year is out. We have some dates available for private events, so if you are planning a family celebration, company gathering or festive get-together, please contact the club to discuss how we can help. And make sure you mark Sunday, December 6 in your calendar for our Family Festive Brunch. This is always a popular occasion and sells out each year, so please book early once reservations open. We look forward to welcoming you and your families for good food, festive favourites and a little holiday cheer. On behalf of the entire kitchen team, thank you for supporting us throughout the season. We appreciate your kind words, honest feedback and the familiar faces that make Granite Golf such a pleasure to be part of. Have a wonderful off-season, enjoy time with family and friends, and we look forward to seeing you back at the club next season.

A Note from HR
The Hearts, Smiles, and Stories Behind Our Season Aly Longstreet, HR & Communications Manager As we roll through October and head toward November 1st, the club naturally begins to quiet down. But while our driving range and dining wrap up for the year, my perspective in HR is focused on the people who brought this place to life all summer long. A great club is ultimately built on daily interactions, genuine smiles, and the hard work of the team serving you. Reflecting on Our Seasonal Team Behind the scenes in HR, autumn is one of the busiest stretches of the year. The offboarding process began in late September as many of our nearly 100 seasonal employees completed their contracts and returned to school or winter commitments. Right now, the focus is on conducting exit interviews, analyzing team feedback, and making key decisions on who will be invited back to join us again next year. Gathering these insights while the season is fresh allows us to continuously refine our workplace culture and elevate the member experience season after season.
A special mention goes to our remaining turf crew, who stay on into November managing the grounds through the seasonal shift. What Happens in HR Over the Winter? A common question asked this time of year is “What actually happens in HR once the course is closed?” While the fairways rest (or this year, get a makeover), the off-season is where the operational foundation for 2027 is built: Professional Development: Winter offers dedicated time to level up, gaining further credentials, completing industry training, and refining internal processes to elevate our service standards. Compliance & Prep: There is a mountain of unseen groundwork to cover before spring. Updating operational policies, ensuring full legal compliance, and preparing employment contracts and offer packages for returning and new staff. Recruiting & Orientation: Early in the new year, hiring kicks back into high gear. HR reviews hundreds of applications, conducts phone screens, sets up department interviews, and prepares for our massive spring orientation, where our entire incoming team gathers for comprehensive training, compliance prep, and service alignment before opening day. Staying Connected Through it all, the communications engine keeps running. Throughout the offseason, keep an eye on your inbox and our Instagram account. We will be sharing regular progress updates and behind-the-scenes looks as PN25 unfolds over the winter months. Thank you to our members for treating our team with warmth all season long. Enjoy these final weeks at the range and dining in the clubhouse, have a wonderful winter, and look forward to updates as we build toward 2027!

Introducing Our new Controller We are pleased to introduce Jeff Patterson, CPA, CA, who joins the Granite Golf Club team as our new Controller.

This specialized background gives him a deep understanding of private club financial dynamics, seasonal operational flows, and modern reporting standards.

A Growing Family and a Bright Road Ahead Bryan Rourke Membership Manager As the golf season comes to a close it is always nice to reflect on a wonderful season. With a healthy membership, the goal is controlled growth which allows us to continue to have some of the best access to the tee and course conditions in Ontario.
In 2026 the trend continued and another successful season was had in gaining new members and our new member survey showed great results. This has a lot to do with how welcoming our current members are as well as all the staff across the different departments. Joining a new club can be intimidating for some and I thank all of you for being so welcoming. There have been several highlights for me looking back on this season. One is the growth we have seen in our ladies’ memberships. Ladies now make up 26% of our membership, which is the highest it has ever been. It was especially wonderful to see the growth in the ladies TAG group on Tuesdays. To put that in perspective the average private club in the GTA ladies’ membership is about 17%. Another highlight this season has been the additions to our reciprocal group. With over 30 clubs now part of our group our members have had the opportunity to enjoy the perks of playing private clubs across Ontario and all of Canada. These additions came at a great time and since the beginning of our renovation we have had close to 300 rounds played at our reciprocal clubs. 25
Of course the biggest highlight of the season is the reinvestment into the golf course with PN25. To see the work KCM has performed in person is nothing short of amazing. It has been easy to see why they have earned the reputation as the best in the business. Of course we couldn’t be in this position without the members. As members who have funded the project through entrance fees and capital fees, this reinvestment provides a great future for the club will continues to make a place people want to join and see what a great future the club has.
Member Referrals continue to be the #1 driver for new members here at Granite Golf Club. If you have someone thinking about joining Granite Golf Club, please encourage them to reach out: brourke@granitegolfclub.ca
