The vibrant British capital where you will spend the next two nights, enjoying the pomp and pageantry of a city that effortlessly combines old and new.

Join a ‘Local Specialist’ this morning for a tour to see the iconic sites of London, including Big Ben, the imposing Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey. Spend a leisurely afternoon shopping on Carnaby Street, consider visiting one of London’s museums or wander along the Thames.

D AY 3 Eurostar™ to Brussels & on to Amsterdam

This morning we meet our Travel Director before traveling to London’s St. Pancras International where we will board the Eurostar™ for a high-speed train journey to Brussels and a luxury coach journey to Amsterdam. Enjoy an orientation of this historic Dutch city before joining your fellow travelers and Travel Director for a dinner cruise on its canals.

D AY 4 Journey to the Rhineland & a Scenic Cruise

Driving through the lush landscapes of the Netherlands and Germany, we arrive in Boppard where we board a cruise along the Rhine to St. Goar, passing vineyard-clad hills and medieval castles perched above riverside towns.  Hotel Sinsheim/Leonardo Hotel Heidelberg or similar  Breakfast, Dinner

D AY 5 Off to Innsbruck

Crossing the Swabian Alps on the edge of the Black Forest, we arrive in Munich. Our orientation takes us past the Hofbrauhaus, reputedly the most famous Beerhall in the world, and the neo-Gothic Town Hall which dominates the Marienplatz. We cross the Austrian border next, arriving in Innsbruck, the capital of the Alps. Admire the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture of the Old Town, including Emperor Maximilian’s famous Golden Roof.

D AY 6 Onwards to the Canals of Venice

Journey along the Brenner Pass into Italy and across the Dolomite Mountains to Venice. We cruise the beautiful Venetian lagoon by private launch to the gateway of Venice, St. Mark’s Square. Travel south to Burgundy and on to the medieval town of Beaune. On a visit to Hospices de Beaune admire the colorful geometric roof tiles of the 15th century. Next we continue to Lyon, the gourmet capital of France. Consider spending your evening delving into the epicurean delights for which Lyon is justifiably famous. Why not wander up the city’s narrow lanes lined with pastel pink and yellow façades in search of a cozy bouchon for a tasty dinner?

Drive toward the Pyrenees this morning and arrive in Lourdes, the global center of the Marian pilgrimage. Then, travel west to the Basque Coast, where you’ll spend the night.

D AY 7 Venture to Bordeaux (2 Nights)

This morning, perhaps join an ‘Optional Experience’ across the border into Spain to discover more about the Basque Country. Later, after journeying through Les Landes, you will arrive in the wine capital of Bordeaux, whose stunning Garonne riverfront and Age of Enlightenment history and architecture

Travel through the patchwork landscapes of Brittany, to the island settlement of Mont-Saint-Michel on the Normandy coast, where you will visit the island town and view the impressive Norman Benedictine Abbey. Follow the Liberty Highway to Saint-Lô and on to Omaha Beach. Reflect on the bravery of the young men who sacrificed their lives for freedom and visit the D-Day Landing Zone to learn how the operation was planned and executed. We’ll also visit the synagogue before returning to Madrid where we’ll admire the Royal Palace and Cibeles Fountain with our ‘Local Specialist.’

D AY 3 Journey to Córdoba & on to Seville (2 Nights)

Heading south through La Mancha, we arrive in Córdoba, once a significant Moorish settlement. Visit the Mosque of the Caliphs with a ‘Local Specialist’ before traveling to Seville, our home for the next two nights. This evening, join the Morillo family for a ‘Be My Guest’ experience at their olive oil farm. Learn how oil is produced from their 6,000 trees and sample some of their produce.

D AY 4 Discover Seville’s Sights

This morning, we meet our ‘Local Specialist’ for a sightseeing tour of Seville. View the symbolic Giralda Bell Tower, see the Moorish-inspired Maria Luisa Park, with its tiled fountains, pavilions and ponds, and walk through the imposing Plaza de España. Marvel at Christopher Columbus’s ornate tomb in the cathedral, then take a walk through the former Jewish Quarter.

D AY 5 Onward to Granada

Multicultural Granada takes center stage today, as we visit the magnificent Alhambra in the company of a ‘Local Specialist.’ A fine example of Moorish architecture, the Alhambra complex was built towards the end of Islamic rule in Spain. Wander through the exotic water gardens of the

Head north, along the coast through the Levant region, and stop at Peñíscola, the ‘City in the Sea.’ View the ancient castle of the ‘Spanish Pope,’ built by the Knights Templar and used in the film, El Cid. Then, journey along the Costa Dorada to Barcelona with its whimsical Gaudí architecture. Admire this famous architect’s talents as we view his unfinished La Sagrada Família. See the Plaça de Catalunya and pay tribute to the great Christopher Columbus, with your ‘Local Specialist.’ From the hill of Montjuïc, we’ll enjoy panoramic views of this enchanting city.

D AY 8 Uncover Gaudí’s Barcelona

D AY 3 Journey to the Algarve Region (2 Nights)

We journey across the Tagus this morning and drive south towards the Serra da Arrábida Mountains and to the golden pastures of the Alentejo. The hearty aroma of Portuguese chicken fills the air at our ‘Be My Guest’ experience as we ‘Connect With Locals’ over a traditional lunch at a stud ranch, where Lusitano horses were reared at the pleasure of King João VI in the 18th century. Our first stop today is in the quaint hilltop town of Castelo de Vide with its charming white façades, narrow alleys and fascinating Jewish Quarter. Explore the city’s rich art and architectural history, and see the 12th-century Sé, standing imposingly on a hill overlooking much of the city.

Then visit Porto Palermo and step inside the 19th-century castle, built by an Ottoman Albanian ruler as a symbol of love for his wife, whilst taking in amazing views of the Ionian Sea. D AY 5 North to Montenegro

Travel north from the Albanian Riviera into Montenegro, where rugged mountains frame the coast. Stop en route for a

traditional agrotourism lunch, prepared with organic produce grown on site and served with local hospitality. Continue to Budva, a coastal town known for its fortified Old Town and history as one of the oldest settlements on the Adriatic. After checking in, there’s time to explore the surrounding area at your own pace — visit the Old Town, walk along the seafront or take in the local atmosphere.

D AY 6 Discover Kotor & Budva

Explore the medieval town of Kotor, today, with your ‘Local Specialist’, winding through its cobbled streets and ancient city walls. Back in Budva, the afternoon is yours. D AY 10 Venture to Historic Lom & Lillehammer

A scenic drive from Geiranger past high peaks brings us to Lom, the gateway to the Jotunheimen Mountains. Here we will ‘Dive Into Culture’ and visit a 12th-century wooden stave church, adorned with Runic inscriptions, paintings and carved dragon figures that are said to protect it against evil. We continue through the Gudbrands Valley, the inspiration for Ibsen’s ‘Peer Gynt’, before arriving in Lillehammer, the proud host of the 1994 Winter Olympics.

D AY 11 On to Oslo

See the unusual Olympic ice arena beside the lake at Hamar as we travel to Norway’s cultural capital, Oslo. Spend the morning connecting with the dazzling natural scenery of Grand Teton National Park. Marvel at the summit peaks of the Teton mountain range and take in the aweinspiring Jenny Lake. This afternoon, choose to sail into the sky on an aerial tram ride to the peak of Rendezvous Mountain offering 360-degree views of the Tetons, Jackson Hole, the Snake River Valley, and Grand Teton National Park. D AY 3 Delve into Yellowstone National Park (2 Nights)

This morning, you may take an optional float trip down Snake River. Sit back and relax as your expert guide points out the sites and wildlife which may include beaver, cutthroat trout, cliff swallows, pelicans, osprey, and bald eagles. No matter what critters come into view, you’ll surely enjoy the mountain views. We continue our exploration of the great American West as we head to the world’s first National Park, Yellowstone. Rise and shine to unlock Yellowstone National Park. Begin by teaming up with local naturalist guides to explore Norris Geyser Basin, the hottest, most acidic and most dynamic geyser basin in Yellowstone on the rim of the Yellowstone volcano. Continue your discovery of the Park with your Travel Director, keeping a keen eye out for bison, grizzlies and elk as you journey through Hayden Valley en route to the rusting walls of Yellowstone’s Grand Canyon.
