For 30 years, the Grande Prairie DownTown Association has worked to strengthen the heart of the city, supporting the businesses, people and activities that make downtown a place to work, live, shop, dine and play.
Adapting With the City Downtown Grande Prairie has changed considerably over three decades, and the DownTown Association has continued to adapt.
As the organization supporting Grande Prairie’s Business Improvement Area (BIA), the Association promotes the city centre through events, promotions, advertising and programs designed to create an inviting and active downtown.

The organization uses new technology and marketing strategies to promote its members, while introducing smaller promotional events to encourage yearround activity. A regional advertising campaign also highlights Grande Prairie’s role as a hub for the Peace Country.

While the methods have changed, the goal remains the same: encouraging people to visit downtown and support the businesses that help shape the city centre.
Looking Ahead Community involvement is central to the Association’s work, with many initiatives developed alongside community partners.
Celebrating Member Success The Association and the Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce share a commitment to promoting local businesses and recognizing their contributions. Chamber events and initiatives also help raise the profile of Grande Prairie’s business community.
Looking ahead, the Association will work closely with the Grande Prairie Stompede as it celebrates its milestone anniversary, encouraging broader participation and bringing new events and activities downtown.
For the DownTown Association, one of its greatest measures of success is seeing its members succeed. Last year, three DownTown Association members were recognized as winners at the Chamber’s Small Business Awards.
After 30 years, the DownTown Association remains focused on helping Grande Prairie’s city centre thrive— adapting to change, supporting local businesses and building a vibrant downtown for the future.

30 Years of Building Legacies
For 30 years, the Northwestern Alberta Foundation (NAF) has been helping people turn their generosity into lasting legacies across the region. As a regional community foundation, NAF works with individuals, families, businesses and organizations to establish charitable funds that can make a difference today and for generations to come. Those resources support local organizations and initiatives, provide opportunities for students pursuing post-secondary education and help address evolving needs across Northwestern Alberta.

Over the past quarter-century, NAF has grown alongside the region, continually expanding the ways it connects generosity with community need. Today, the Foundation holds 215 uniquely created funds, providing a powerful foundation for continued community investment. Since 2020 alone, NAF has invested $5.6 million through 2,575 grants to community organizations, while providing more than $550,000 in

support to 835 students pursuing postsecondary education. Through the power of endowment, those investments are designed to continue growing over time — allowing the Foundation to give more, do more and build upon the legacy created by generations of donors. Celebrating Those Who Give Back One achievement particularly meaningful to NAF is the launch of the 7 Over 70 Awards of Distinction Celebration. The initiative shines a light on people who have spent decades quietly giving their time, talents and hearts to Northwestern Alberta. By sharing their stories, NAF celebrates how seemingly small acts of generosity and community spirit, repeated over a lifetime, can become something extraordinary. The stories connect generations, honour the people who helped shape the region and encourage others to consider the legacy they, too, can create. Community involvement is at the heart of NAF's work. Being rooted in community allows the Foundation to better understand the people, organizations, opportunities and challenges across Northwestern Alberta — and ultimately, to connect generosity with the places where it can make the greatest difference.

Through Chamber networking, events and relationships, the Foundation has been able to stay engaged with the people and conversations shaping the community, while gaining insight into the opportunities, challenges and emerging issues affecting different sectors. For NAF, those connections help build partnerships, share community needs and opportunities, and ultimately connect more people with meaningful ways to give back. After 25 years as a Chamber member, Northwestern Alberta Foundation's story is one of connection — connecting donors with possibilities, resources with community needs, and generations with the opportunity to leave a lasting legacy.

Over Two Decades of Helping Busineses Own Their Digital Future For two decades, Nine10 incorporated has helped businesses across Grande Prairie and beyond build their presence in an increasingly digital world. In 2026, the local digital marketing agency marks 20 years in business, while its roots stretch even further through ImageDESIGN, whose history reaches back 26 years. Over that time, Nine10 has watched the digital landscape change dramatically. What began with web design and development has grown into a broader range of branding, website, marketing and digital services, with artificial intelligence now adding another dimension to how businesses approach their online presence. Today, Nine10 works with more than 1,000 businesses, building AI-ready branding, websites and marketing systems while providing hands-on training to help clients make the most of those tools.
A central part of that philosophy is ownership. Rather than simply providing a service and managing the tools on a client's behalf, Nine10 believes businesses should own their websites, brand assets and digital systems. Growing Alongside Technology
Nine10’s own growth has reflected the changes taking place throughout the industry. The company expanded its capabilities through the acquisition of GoSocial, adding social media and digital marketing expertise to its established web and design services.

NINE10 INCORPORATED
In 2022, Nine10 merged with ImageDESIGN, bringing together two long-established Grande Prairie agencies. The merger expanded the company’s team, services and client base while combining decades of experience in the local market. Today, approximately 90 per cent of Nine10’s clients are based in Alberta, with roughly 75 per cent located in the Peace Region. The company’s ability to adapt has also earned recognition. Nine10 has twice been named Best Small Business of the Year, including once since the merger with ImageDESIGN. The team is also particularly proud of receiving the Leading Edge Award, which reflects a philosophy built around embracing change, technology and new opportunities. Staying Involved Locally As a Chamber member, Nine10 has valued the opportunity to stay connected with other local businesses through networking and fellowship events, as well as through educational collaborations such as Lunch & Learn-style events. These opportunities have provided a way to

exchange ideas, share knowledge and remain engaged with the issues and opportunities affecting businesses in the region. Nine10’s involvement extends beyond the business community as well. The company supports a wide range of local non-profits and charitable organizations through branding, web and digital marketing services, including discounted charitable pricing for organizations doing important work in the community. The company is also continuing to invest in local initiatives. For the third consecutive year, Nine10 is the title sponsor of the NWP Presidents Ball, and it has recently signed on as title sponsor of NWP and the SIDE Centre’s first-ever AI Conference. After 20 years, Nine10’s story is one of continued adaptation. From web design and development to social media, digital marketing and AI, the company has grown alongside the technology while maintaining a clear focus on giving businesses the knowledge, tools and ownership to manage their own digital future.
