Over the past four decades, the City of Grande Prairie has grown alongside the community it serves—evolving from a regional centre into a dynamic city and economic hub for Northwest Alberta. As a 40-year member of the Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce, the City has shared a longstanding commitment with the business community to strengthen the local economy, support opportunity and help create a community where businesses and residents can thrive. Today, the City provides the infrastructure, programs and services that support more than 70,000 residents and a regional trade area of

approximately 300,000 people. Beyond delivering essential municipal services, the City continues to support economic development, investment attraction, workforce growth and initiatives that enhance quality of life. Over the years, that commitment has taken many forms—from establishing Invest Grande Prairie to support business attraction, retention and expansion, to investing in community amenities such as the Eastlink Centre, Montrose Cultural Centre, Bonnetts Energy Centre, Dave Barr Community Centre and Aquatera Outdoor Pool. The City has also introduced housing incentive programs, advanced a Health Care Attraction and Retention Strategy, and continues to advocate for key transportation corridors, including

Highways 40, 43 and 43X, recognizing their importance to the region's long-term economic success. The partnership between the City and the Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce has helped advance shared priorities, including economic development, regional advocacy and initiatives that support local businesses. The Centre 2000 building remains a lasting symbol of that collaboration, reflecting what can be achieved when organizations work together to strengthen the community and support regional growth. At the heart of Grande Prairie's success are its people—the residents, businesses, organizations and partners who contribute to the community every day. As the City celebrates 40 years of Chamber membership, it also celebrates the partnerships that continue to help shape a thriving and resilient Grande Prairie.

One of Community Futures' proudest milestones came in 2020 when it received the Dan H. Minchin Award during Small Business Week. Recognizing long-term business achievement, the award celebrates the organization's enduring commitment to supporting entrepreneurs, fostering collaboration and strengthening the Peace Region's economy. As Community Futures celebrates 30 years of Chamber membership, it continues to build on that legacy, believing its greatest measure of success is reflected in the achievements of the entrepreneurs, businesses and community partners it serves every day.

Building Community Through Service and Camaraderie For five years, ANAVETS Unit 389 has been a proud member of the Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce, continuing its longstanding commitment to service, friendship, and community connection. A volunteer-run, not-for-profit organization, ANAVETS Unit 389 provides a place where veterans, their families, members, guests, and the public can gather, connect, and enjoy a sense of belonging. While its roots are in supporting veterans, the organization proudly welcomes anyone 18 years of age or older who is looking to become part of an active and inclusive community. Whether attending a social event, volunteering, or simply stopping in to meet friends, visitors are welcomed into an environment built on respect, camaraderie, and shared experiences. The past few years have marked an exciting new chapter for ANAVETS. Following the sale of its previous building, the organization purchased

and extensively renovated its new home, officially opening the doors in December 2024. The new facility has created new opportunities to host community events, live entertainment, fundraisers, and hall rentals while continuing to serve as a vibrant gathering place for the region. It has also provided the flexibility to expand programming, welcome new members, and create additional opportunities for local organizations and residents to come together. In 2025, ANAVETS further expanded its reach with the launch of its website, complementing its active

social media presence and making it easier for the community to learn about upcoming events, hall rentals, membership opportunities, and the many ways to get involved. The Chamber has also helped increase awareness of the organization within the local business community, creating valuable connections and opportunities to share its mission with a broader audience. Community service remains at the heart of everything ANAVETS does. The organization proudly supports local Cadet Corps, Scouts, Girl Guides, Special Olympics Grande Prairie, the Salvation Army, the Grande Prairie Pipes and Drums Band, and has sponsored Grande Prairie Minor Hockey U7 since 1992. Through volunteerism, partnerships, and community events, ANAVETS continues to create meaningful connections that extend far beyond its walls. As ANAVETS Unit 389 celebrates five years of Chamber membership, it continues to strengthen
